Hope you are all feeling ok. SophieJ and Toni you both seem to be having a really tough time, hang in there I know it will all be worth it.
I am 15 weeks today, and finally had to give in and buy some maternity clothes last Sunday. I woke up and couldn't get any of my trousers to do up. It was quite funny I was doing them up unable to breathe when I went in the shop but as soon as we got back to the car was having to undo them until the next stop. Anyway bought some dungarees and 2 tops so feeling much more comfortable.
Saw the consultant a week last Thursday and they are really looking after me. First of all the midwife did all her bits, had keytones and protein in my wee so on antibiotics. She couldn't find a heartbeat and took us straight through for a scan even though I had had one just 7 days earlier. Thankfully 'Stitch' was moving around like mad and the scan picked up the heartbeat straight away, so we got another picture for our album!
My consultant decided I should change one of my blood pressure tablets because it is dangerous during pregnancy, he rang a bloodpressure consultant for advice while we waited and they decided that she would like to see me because I am classed as very high risk for pre-eclampsia. He then wanted to change my meds to a tablet I had taken before (there is only 2 safe blood pressure tablets for pregnancy) but I had had a lot of problems with migranes so he upped the dosage of the tablet I am taking. So I am now taking 8 blood pressure tablets a day.
They also decided that I need a 20 week neuro scan (Coventry don't usually offer this) because I am epileptic and baby is more at risk of neuro defects. I am also going to have a lot of growth scans throughout and another in depth scan later on. they also said I need to have a glucose tollerance test because diabetes is on both sides of the family.
We were in with the consultant and midwife for over 2 hours. The maternity hospital in Coventry opened in december and is really nice, they have such good facilities and looks very modern. I am lucky because my consultant is the consultant I saw for my fertility treatment so he knows my history and is able to concentrate on the problem areas instead of having to go through everything again and running out of time.
I still can't believe I am pregnant although it was nice yesterday as we went into Birmingham and looked at the Mamas and Papas store. We are going to see We Will Rock You in London tomorrow, I can't wait, it is our 6th time in 2 years. We have front row seats again so it should be interesting, I think the baby will have a good time -have to get it used to Queen!!!
Good luck for everyone with scans, midwife appointments etc

Kelly.......welcome to the thread.....it helps maintain some degree of sanity doesn't it!!??
Toni - how did your scan go?? Nuture sounds fab..........these other bloody hospitals annoy me.........they have no idea of what we have all gone through to get to this point.....every little thing is a worry. You take care and try not to worry too much.
It does look like we will be on a second trimester thread girls......!!
I am 17 weeks today so I definately need one!! I am off to my consultant on Thursday and can't wait.........I have been a nervous wreck since seeing him 3 week ago..........pathetic I know......
Hi there
Sorry I haven't been on for ages - great to catch up.
Sophie & Toni, so sorry you're having such a crappy time of it.
I haven't felt too bad - nauseous, headachey and very tired. Have got back ache already though which I wasn't expecting. My GP has referred me for physio on the NHS and I have an appt. already - that was a pleasant surprise as I thought I'd have to wait much longer. I've been getting stomach ache too but am prone to IBS so have had to blame most of it on that (for my sanity's sake). Reached 12 weeks today or at least I think so. Has been 3 weeks since last scan so have been getting a wee bit paranoid as to whether they're still hanging on in there. Have another scan on Weds so am counting down the days and keeping fingers crossed. Can finally phase out the pessaries - yippee (has been 3 times a day since spotting before Xmas).
All the best to you all, Anna xx

Hello all,
so glad to see more of you are posting.
Toni ... how did your scan go. Good old fertility clinic fitting you in. I was lucky that I have two early pregnancy clinics near me (salisbury and Bournemouth) and I have made the most of both of them. I am feeling much better ... still got stomach ache / cramps but the consultant at the hospital didn't say this was anything bad so now I am taking it as a positive sign that the baby is growing / uterus stretching. A number of us seem to be having cramps so maybe it is our enlarged ovaries being squashed by our uterus. I am thinking of you and looking forward to hearing how the twins are.
Jackie ... 15 weeks how exciting. The consultatnt etc seems to be looking after you well. It makes all the difference doesn't it. I am 13 weeks and haven't been able to fit into any of my clothes for a couple of weeks now. Just bought a lovely wrap around dress from Topshop maternity (I never shop in Topshop normally but this dress is really nice). Other than that I am now in size 14 trousers whereas I am normally a 10. I also had to buy some new knickers ... ones that hide my forever spreading cellulite.
I still haven't gone to work, but will try and do a day tomorrow. My temp and heartbeat are down ..... but still suffering from headaches. I had sucha bad migraine yesterday, maybe brought on from being sick into a paper bag in tescos!!!!
Anna - great to hear from you. Yippee 12 weeks. Enjoy your scan this week ... the babies will look so much bigger than at your previous scan. You'#ve been so good to wait 3 weeks between scans ... I think the most I have gone is 2 weeks!!
Jan - glad to see things are going well for you. 17 week ... wow .... you will soon be feeling the baby move, and do you now have a definite baby bump!! Do you also have a scan at the consultatnts on thursday??
Hello to the rest of you .. elizabeth, valli, kelly.
I am going to start a 2nd trimester thread for us.... what about "2nd trimester bumps!!".
Hope this is OK. See you over on that thread.
