Hi,
I heard, that once the embryo is replaced back into the womens body, any stress for the next coming 2 weeks should be avoided.
Some countries recommend to woman to stay home "being sick". Other countries tell " to take it easy - and to avoid stress".
I was wondering if anybody working fulltime has the possibilty to avoid stress? How does this work?
I am a 32 year old woman, start the first IVF within the next weeks and wonder, what to do, when coming to the point of the replacment of the empryo. Taking 2 weeks off?
Has anybody some advice or knows a study, what to do?

Hi, working or not depends a little on what kind of work you do. If fairly sedentary and low stress, I can't think why you wouldn't help pass the time that way. There have been people on here who decide on 2 weeks' bed rest and still get a -ve result
I've had 2 +ve and 2 -ve results. The first 2ww (which resulted in a baby) I flew between cities, worked full time in a school and whilst I took things slightly easier, my clinic said 'carry on as normal but don't do anything too new/strenuous'. My 2nd +ve ended soon after it began but I'd worked throughout. My -ve treatments were when I was working part time. The general consensus is to take things gently, don't over do it but follow your heart and head. It's all too easy to blame ourselves so make sure you do what you feel is right.

I am very happy to get all your advices. It is not easy to talk about this, I keep a very low profile to avoid to update everybody all the time.
Thank you all.
I keep the fingers crossed for all of you. Good luck.
I personally would not recomend working soon after transfer if you do anything remotely active. I'm a preschool teacher (2s) and I returned to work on the 6th day after transfer I lost the pregnancy at 5 weeks. When you go through so much physically and emotionally you really cannot be too careful.

It is down to each person, when I had my eggs put back I was off for a couple of days but then I returned to work. The thing is if you stay at home you are just going to ponder on it. What sort of job do you do? I mean if you work in a factory and lift things then maybe it is a different case.
I went back to work after three days. It is enough to think about every night, so I am glad to be preoccupied during the day. Follow your heart is good advice. If you are physically and emotionally up to it after the ET, then probably nothing wrong with going to work.
So far I’ve had 2 cycles and returned to work both the day after EC (not to be recommended) AND the day after ET. My work don’t know about my treatment which puts more pressure (and stress) on me not to take time off. The first was a +ve but only lasted a few days and the last was –ve. For the next round (July/August hopefully) I will follow Zita’s advice and stay at home on sofa or bed for 3 days. My DH is insisting on this. I wouldn’t class my job as stressful, but the journey to work takes an hour on the London tube, involves a tube change, standing most of the way and generally lots of stress. I’m not sure that 2 hours a day of this type of travel does me any good. I’m being tested for poor bloodflow to the womb, and this turns out to be the case, then I’ll need to stay resting as standing diverts the bloodflow away from the womb area.
I don’t think there is a right or wrong way. Zita West recommends 3 days of bed rest but I don’t think that works for everyone. However, I will give it a go next time.
