MARCH/APRIL BUDDIES

Post by julesg »

Dear All

Trying to catch up with everyone and one thing that I have noticed is talk of March now, so I thought if it was ok with everyone we should start a March thread.

I don't like to jinx things but my AF finally arrived on the 20th Jan so hopefully ( everything is crossed :!: ) it will arrive 20th Feb and I will phone the hospital and start to sniff mid march with EC in April - if we get that far this time. I know I shouldn't work it out - can't help it - one step at a time this time.

Love and hugs to All

Hi Julie

Well done you on setting up this thread ! :D - Can I be the first to join you.. ?

My plan is to ring the hospital with my (9th ?) March AF. If they accept me for treatment that month, I shld start downreg on 30 March and then I reckon ET should be around 19 April. That's if things go to plan .. !

How exciting !!

Hiya Julie ... Yeah, I like to be able to put dates to things too ... and, of course, I too am being presumptious .... if AF arrives 9 March, if hospital accept me that cycle, if tmt goes to plan.... I've just got everything crossed !!

This will be our 3rd tmt. First ICSI was March 04 (-ve), second ICSI was Aug 04 (-ve). Luckily we have some frosties from last time, so we're doing our first medicated FET. I wasn't too keen at first, but from what I've read / now understand, it seems a much easier option. We'll see ! What tmt are you doing Julie ?

Delly ... Good luck with your meeting with your consultant on next Tues. I hope you get some of the answers to your questions, and a positive way forward. Each clinic / hospital seems to be different in terms of timescale etc. I did wait an age between first consultatoin and first treatment. I hope you have a better experience. Let us know how you go on on Tues.

Hello buddies,

It is so funny how you guys have all the dates lined out. I did the same thing just last night.

AF should arrive about 25 Feb and when it does I will break my neck running to the phone to call the clinic. My RE will place me on BCPs and then I will cycle in April.

I will be doing a natural (most likely) FET, so no EC. I expect transfer to be around 15-20 April. Sandy it will be interesting to see it everything goes as planned for both of us. If so, we will be on the 2ww at the same time.

This is my second cycle. I cycled with Sandra in August with a negative. Then I transfer one. We were cautious because I was at risk for OHSS. This time we will be going all out. I have three frosties and we will transfer all that survive. Of course, I plan for all three to survive ( I can't have staci's embies out doing my own!!!)

Hi All

Good luck with your meeting Delly I hope you will be able to join us.

Mia Hi - I am glad I am not the only one working out dates :!: :!:

Sandra like you it is all ifs but I need to be +Ve. If Af arrives 21st Feb will phone clinic - then will find out protocol for sure but most likely sniff buserlin (can't spell any of these things so forgive me!!) for approx 2weeks, then injections - if all went well I guesstimate EC wb 11th April.

Last time I was at high risk OHSS so my cycle was abandoned before EC - which was disappointing but my levels were SO high I understand why they couldn't risk giving me the last injection to mature the eggs before EC. So I still feel like a beginner at this. Not looking forward to injecting again - found that very hard and then when it turned out to be for no reason that was hard. But I hard a good response and I will have less drugs next time and go for more regular scans. The best part was that at the moment we are still NHS so as the EC did not happen it did not count as one of our two free goes.

Fingers crossed that our AFs turn up on time - it really helps me to write on here and then I can get on with the rest of my day - people at work don't know and most days I am glad - now I have this site I don't feel the need to tell anyone other than close friends.

Roll on March!! Feel a bit down in the dumps today - although I do feel a bit better now it is feb

Good to meet you all - lets hope for a successful couple of months

Love and hugs
Julie
P.S Sophie - Jane hope you are ok just wanted to say that I am going for your PMA approach - I had a feeling it wouldn't work last time - this time it will

Hi Girls .. :D

Mia .. you made me laugh re running to the phone - I know exactly what you mean. As my tmt is NHS, I have to ring at 9.00 am on the day of AF to request tmt, and depending on how many others have also phoned that month, it's either a Yes or No. (It's all to do with funding availability, and H&S). Then I've to ring back at 2.30 pm to see if I've been accepted. The trouble is this time that AF'ss due on 9 March, and I'll be in Cuba. They'd better not keep me hanging on .. :x I suppose a "Yes" will be worth it though .. It will be good to be on 2ww together :) I'm only allowed to thaw 2 embies, so you've got a head start on me !!

Julie .. I can imagine how disappointing it was last time, having the cycle cancelled, but as you realise - it was for your own good. Excellent news that it wasn't counted as a freebie :) . I too was so pleased when I found out that this FET is still counted as part of my last cycle.

Kelly - I hope you get some positive news from your apptmnt on 8 March :)

Toni - thanks for the good luck vibes .. (not that we'll need them, eh girls ? Lots of PMA PMA) !!

Hi All

Sandra - I hope you can get through on the phone and they let you start - Where are you getting tmt? I didn't know that happen if too many people phoned that month I will have to make sure I phone first thing just incase. Quick question - if I was lucky enough to get frosties this time (still can't stop thinking about tony tiger :!: :!: ) does that still count as a go if I had them put back on a different cycle? What tmt do you have if that happens?

Toni - hi thanks for looking out for us - PMA is better some days than others.

Hi Julie - No, if you get frosties this time, then go on to have an FET, it should all count as your first cycle. Let's have some PMA though - first time lucky ! :D

I'm off on a business trip now, until Friday teatime, so won't be able to log on till then.

I'll miss yu all :)

Julie,

I was thinking the same thing....bringing this post back up to the top.

I am anxious to get this treatment going and find out the results one way or the other.

I am getting excited and very hopeful that this treatment will work. I hope I am not setting myself up for a fall. I cannot go through treatment without believing it will work, so I am planning on having a baby sometime in January (everything crossed!!!). I already have a son born 2 weeks after Christmas. DH suggested we wait a couple more months so in the future Christmas and birthdays will not hit us all at once. I figured he was mad, and totally ignored his suggestion.

I am excited...and trying not to get too obssessed as the time is getting closer.
