Hi there
I have just discovered this site and wish I'd known about it months ago. My story is that I had an eptopic pregnancy last year and lost one of my fallopian tubes. I tried subsequently to get pregnant using clomid and montly scans (I have polycystic ovaries), but no success. So I did an IVF cycle in August which sadly didn't work. I decided at the time to freeze the 10 remaining fetilized eggs, and did a frozen embryo cycle "naturally" the week before last. I'm now coming up to the end of my 14 day wait, and as usual it's hell. Am not feeling very optimistic though, because when I had the eptopic, my breasts felt sore immediately I got the positive pregnancy result, and when I did the IVF cycle back in August, I had the same symptoms, even though it was ultimately unsuccessful. I don't have any symptoms this time round which doesn't fill me with confidence. I should find out on Sunday/Monday - is anyone else waiting for a result?
Best of luck everyone.

Hello Nel,

Welcome to this site - I am relatively new too but find it most comforting. Can I ask some questions?. Do you still have one good fallopian tube, did you get a positive result from your first IVF.
How long have you been actively trying to conceive?

As for twangs and pains, during my last attempt at IVF I had all the signs of an AF (auntie flow), spotting, cramping not pg signs at all and I tested positive - He is three yrs old now, and the my whole world. I do not think there are any definitive signs

I'm not due to test until next Saturday - but I know how hard it is to wait.

All the best

Charmaine
x
Hi Nel and Charmaine

Welcome to the site, it really is a godsend and there's always someone who will listen to your worries or questions and be there for you which is great!

There are quite a few of us on the dreaded 2ww (2 week wait) so why don't you join us on that thread (under October 2 ww'ers). I'm halfway through and as you say it is hell. Not long for you now tho – I wish you the very best of luck.

Charmaine – I was wondering how many goes did it take before you were successful with your son, and have you had to have many goes since for your second child? Are you doing a frozen or fresh cycle? All the best

Jules xxx

Hello Jules,

Two goes one IVF and one FET - so it was 3rd time lucky for me. This is my first try and probably only try - I really do want to be (as you will find out) the best mum in the world - but these drugs make me soooooooooo miserable, that I don't think I can put any of us through it gain. One thing I will say though is I think us mum's make the best mums because we don't take anything for granted...

Love and best wishes

Charmaine
x

Hi Charmaine & Jules
Sorry not to reply to you sooner but I've been away. Sadly using frozen embryos hasn't worked for me so it's back to the beginning again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of you though.
All the best
Nel x
