Hi :D

Mia I am thinking the same that we will be having a baby in January, I am sure it will work. At christmas after my cylce was abandaned I kept telling myself next christmas you will be pregnant!!

Kelly - good luck quiting smoking - that must be tough on top of everything else - and incase I forget I hope you have a great birthday

I try so hard to stay postive - easier some days than others - I can not image NEVER being pregnant sometimes and then sometimes I can not image that it will ever happen :!: :!: I think this is making me slightly (more) mad!

Good to hear we are all doing ok - keep +ve

Love and hugs

Delly - How did your appointment go today ? Any proacative news ?

Mia - I totally agree - ignore dh's suggestion to wait a couple more months. Totally mad !! :)

Kelly - I totally admire you re giving up smoking. I gave up on 29 Dec, but had another couple last weekend. What's that all about ? Stick to it girl, it can only be goooood :D

hello Sand and everybody,

Went to London today and it went fine, the consultant was very thourough and nice....need to do more bloods tests and vaginal swabs, my DH need s to do blood tests and semen sample which needs to be left in incubator for 48hrs to see if they live for those 48hrs.

So my DH will make appointment tomorrow and hope to see gp on friday because i need to do hormones tests on day 2-5 of periods and they are on their way......

after all thoses tests, first day of next period, internal scan and then i'll start on the long protocol with pill for 14-21 days then injections.

At least there's no waiting list so as soon as we get thoses tests done, the quicker we can start our treatment.
It all seems so long and complicated, i'm afraid of finding difficulties all the way....had to sign loads of form today about privacy and child protection which is ridiculous....why would we go do all this hard work and pay £4000 for attempting to get pregnant if we didn't want a child.....they should look closer to home...

But as my DH said to me, we've done the first step and let's be positive......

Hope to hear from you all soon, i'll keep in touch and updated

Take care
Delly

Delly

Glad everything went ok - the tests do seem to never end - I had to sniff the downregg burselin and extra week last time while we waited for DH's chromosome test to come back. Hope all is well with the results - stay in touch

Sandra - don't tell the hospital you are never in the same place :!: :D If only it were that simple heh?? Hope you and DP get together soon!! Me and my DH work together - so a trip away to me sounds great

Only 12 days till AF (fingers crossed) I will only feel better once I have that appoinment to go back

Anyway - late keep typing wrong

Love and hugs to all

Hi girls,
Can i join too? This will be our first ICSI treatment, i've to phone clinic when AF starts (fingers crossed) on 27th Feb. This is the only time i can think of that i want it to start on my actual due date but knowing my luck i'll be late.
I'm excited but nervous at the same time that we are finally gonna start soon. From reading these boards i kinda know what goes on right through the cycles, but having never gone through one before it's actually quite a scary thought and i have a huge needle phobia, DH is really looking forward to the day when he can start stabbing me with them, lol.
Bought my supply of folic acid yesterday but not sure when to start taking them, should i start now or wait a few weeks, til maybe around the time AF starts, any suggestions?
I've also got to make an attempt to stop smoking, i'm gonna find that real hard as i have no will power whatsoever, i'm really going to miss my cigs but i know it's for the best, think i'll just pick a date and try then.
Better go, DH will be home from work soon and will be wanting fed.
Take care all,
Lotsa love

Mind if I join in? We are going for FET in late March/early April. Seems like an age away, but I know it will be here before we know it. Good luck to everyone!

Michelle: I just wanted to say go ahead and start taking the folic acid. They like for it to be kinda built up in your system a bit when you get pregnant. I have been taking the prenatal vitamins for over a year now. Thay can only help you! And good luck with the smoking thing...I hated giving them up (7 years, now!) but I felt much better once I did. Good luck to you and everyone else in this round!

hi michelle,

Welcome......Hope all goes well for you  in your treatment, good luck.
Good luck in stopping smoking, i was once a avide smoker and stopped 3 years ago, just will power did it for me, didn't want to kill myself anymore.
For the folic acid, i've started mine couple of months ago, i would say, start now.
They usually say to start 3 months before trying so it can go through your system.
My AF started today so we've got appointment at doc tomorrow to do more blood tests...etc...What a lot of fun.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Take care

Hi everyone

A big welcome to Stephanie and Michelle.

I will just echo the others start taking the folic acid now Michelle - I have been on it since May last year!! Sounds like we will cycle really close. We are due for our 1st ICSI - although we have semi cycled - but did not get to egg collection. I don't like needles but I really amazed myself and I did it, I am not looking forward to that bit again as last time I went through all that for nothing. But I did have a funny feeling it wouldn't work last time and I now have a very positive feeling it WILL work.

I admire you all for giving up smoking I am just lucky I never started!! On top of everything else that must be really tough. I am trying to be good food wise and lose the weight I put on last time I cycled, because my levels were so high I was starving all the time :!:

Good luck with your tests tomorrow Delly - we will all be off and sniffing and injecting before we know it

Love and hugs

Hiya,
Thanks all for the warm welcome.
Well, i took my first folic acid pill this morning following all your advice.
Just worked out only 17 days til AF is due, this feels so weird actually counting the days til it's due and looking forward to it, lol.
Good luck with your tests today Delly.
Well done Stephanie on giving up smoking for 7 years, that is my only problem and i'm gonna really struggle with it, i'm a bit of a chain smoker, smoke between 20 - 30 a day, i don't know if i'm worse at home or at work, i work 20 hours a week but only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and i've seen myself fitting in 3 cigs in a 15 minute tea break and just have one whenever i feel like it during the week when i'm at home. DH stopped almost 9 years ago, he just woke up one morning and decided that was it, he says he found it easy so i should too, yeah right. I've lost count the number of times i've tried over the years but gave in, the longest i've lasted was 5 days without one. Oh, just remembered, my other big vice is coffee, i would say i drink almost as much coffee as i smoke cigs, that is gonna be another thing that's gonna be hard for me to cut back on. I've just this minute decided on a date to try and quit, DH's birthday is the 18th Feb and we will more than likely go out that night, so i think my date will be the 19th. Good luck to everyone else who's quitting, i hope we can be quitting buddies aswell as cycle buddies.
Well, i've got to get to the Post Office before it shuts, always seems to shut early.
Take care all and talk to you later.
Lotsa love

Hi

just a quicky for Michelle.

My Mum has just quit smoking this January - she has smoked since she was 16 and is now 51. like you she has tried to quit loads of times over the years, always without fail i think the most she ever went was 5 days, like you. she is also a chain smoker. well i should say WAS. she says she just woke up one day at the beginning of jan and thought 'Im gonna quit'. She went to her local pharmacy and told them she wanted to quit and they have been extremely supportive, apparently, and she hasnt touched one since!!

So 2 things:

1) it IS possible to do (I never thought i would see the day my Mum quit!!)
and
2) go to your local pharmacy and ask what they can do to help, they may have numbers for local support groups, give you advice etc etc. i cant do any harm

Love and Good Luck

Toni xx

Hiya Toni,
Thanks for that, that's quite an inspiration hearing about your mum.
This treatment is the most important thing to me so i know i WILL do it and i'm not going to quit quitting like i have done on so many other occasions.
Thanks again.
Take care,
Lotsa love

Hi everyone. I want to join as an April buddy. I am having FET April 14th. I have IVF in January came back -tive... we were very, very sad. For awhile I thought I did everything wrong. But, once I started on this message board... I have been feeling lots better.... more positive... so thank you everyone!!!!

We have 7 Frosties at Day 6... I think we will thaw 4 on April 14th and hope for the best. I would appreciate any good stories about anyone who got pregnant with Frosties.... has anyone tried Acupuncture? I thought maybe I would try since I read an article that said it has upped fertility. Anyone have an opinion with this.

I would like to wish everyone else very much luck and say "Yay Frosties!"

What is everyone else's experience?

Joy

Glad to be a part!

Hiya,
Went to see gp today and did all the blood tests required from clinic to start ivf....did the hormones levels, hiv, hepatitis B,C....booked at the well woman clinic on tuesday for high vaginal swab and endocervical swab for chlamydia.
My DH had his blood test too for hiv and hepatitis B,C so all he has to do now is his semen analysis and 48hrs incubation which he's going to call clinic tomorrow to make the appointment...so hopefully if all is well...next month when my AF arrives i'll call the clinic, go for scan and again if all is well...they'll give me the pill for 14-21 days and then i'll start the injections!!!!
This is going so fast....i'm exited but scarred .....so much to take on board....
Keep you posted...look like i'ma going to be a april buddy, if all is well with ec in april and fet in may......don't really know, just guessing.....but we're going somewhere this time
Good luck all and keep in touch
Take care
