Hello Girls

My name is Debbie and I am 26 years old, about 5 years ago I got pregnant and just under 3 months and many pains later we found I was having an ectopic pregnancy which very nearly killed me as my tube burst, well after an emergency op the doctors came round and told me they had removed my left tube and also found that I was born without my right tube and overy so the only possible way to concieve would be IVF which will be somtime soon hopefully I have my first appointment on the 21st of this month and cant wait to get started I dont know how long it will take after the first innitial consultation to acctually get started properly assuming there are know other problems (hopenot) I will be attending the Birmingham Womens Hospital in Edgbasten Birmingham if anyone else is going there could you please give me some info as to how long it takes to get the whole process up and runnning and how much the drugs are thankyou.
Hi Debbie

Welcome from another New Girl.

Sounds like we are in a similar time scale. I am going for my first consultation at the beginning of November to start ICSI and don't know what to expect either. I've had 2 failed IUI's and my doctor has now said that my other half's sperm isn't as motile as it could be. So our only hope is ICSI. I have read up lots about it all and to be honest all the drugs etc scares me, added to which the complication of having time off work at short notice etc.

So basically I can't answer any of your questions but I can only reassure you that we are both at the beginning of what could be an emotional rollercoaster. Perhaps we can keep each other posted as we go along?

I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a couple of weeks, when I plan to try and relax and forget all about it, but would be good to hear from you when I get back.

Take care and keep your chin up!
Rachel
Hi I found out this morning that we are at the top of the waiting list. Our initial consultation is on 30th Oct. I don't know how long after that things get moving but it should be about the same time as you. Keep in touch.
Hello girlies

I am also new to the IVF thing..I am 26 and my hubby 28. We started trying to get pg 18 months ago and nothing seemed to happen...many tests later we discovered that my hubby makes very little and non moving spermies - the result from having mumps at 10! I started jabbing on Friday night and so I am now on day 4 and getting excited about all of the scans and the outcome. I am due to go in for ec and et around the 11 November in London. It would be great to keep in contact with all of you as we all go through it together..

Speak to you soon
Good luck..Becky
