I am nervous and scared that it won't work because of my IVF -. Please let me know if anyone had a good outcome. I would appreciate it!!!! Thanks.

Post by joy »

 I am feeling blue today. I am not sure why. I again am having my FET on April 14th. I have a dr. appt. Friday to start all the new meds again. Do any of you get this way, where you feel really blue? I want my FET to work so bad....

Joy,

I had a failed IVF in July. It was an early miscarriage at 6 weeks - the numbers were never very high. Then had an FET in August. I was certain it would not work, as they had used up the "best" embies in the IVF and that did not work. I was pretty down about the whole thing - even considered doing another fresh IVF instead of the FET. The FET was natural - no meds except for progesterone.

At ET, the doctors said "good luck" and all that. I was like "whatever." I really had a bad attitude. After a week I was convinced it had not worked since I had none of the symptoms I had with the IVF. When I got the numbers back, the HCG was very high, but I still had bleeding up until 7 weeks - very scary. But now I am 28 weeks pregnant with twin boys, so it definately can work. Even if you don't have a great positive attitude about it. We are lucky to have frosties - many people on the board never get them.

Good luck to you for your FET!

Congratulations to you!!!! I am very happy for you!!!! I hope that I get as lucky as you. I am sorry you had to through the IVF problems. It was just that with the IVF they were so positive that everything looked great!!!!! So, now I am worried.

How many frosties did you have? I have 7 (day 6ers!). I am worried about how many to thaw for April 14th and how my luck will be. Did you do anything different with the FET than the IVF?

I am going to try acupuncture at the end of February and maybe once in March!? My husband just says have a positive attitude but I feel like such a failure that my IVF didn't work... so I just pray every day and every night that my frosties are strong!!!

Do you have names yet?

Joy,

Thank you - I hope you will be as lucky, too! During my IVF everything went perfectly up until the end also, so I also was especially crushed. I think that's why I never believed it when they said the FET was going well.

We had 5 frosties - day 5 - all were 7 or 8 cells and grade A or B. We thawed 3, even though I was pushing to thaw all 5, since I didn't think enough would make it. The doctor persuaded me to only thaw the 3 and put in whichever of them made it. He was worried about triplets, which at the time I found ridiculous, but now I see his point. Two of the embies thawed very well and the third fragemented and lost all of its cells except for one. I'm sure they only put it in to make me feel better :?

Accupuncture is good. I used to have it regularly before I knew what my infertility problem was, just to relax me. It is worth it just because it is so relaxing. During the FET, the only difference from the IVF was that it was a natural cycle, so really they just monitored the naturally occuring follicle and put them in at the proper time. But I do remember the doctor saying that after the IVF my estrogen level had been higher than they liked to see it. I wonder if that was part of the problem. Apparently for some women, FET can work when IVF can't because the hormones are in better balance. Perhaps I am one of those.

We are thinking about Felix Conrad and Emmett Franklin for the names. But that could all change...

I also hope your frosties are strong and that they come through the thaw well. They say sometimes freezing actually helps weed them out so that the stronger ones will be the ones that they actually transfer. Best of luck to you,

Thank you for your message. Your messages truly cheers me up. That is what a lot of people say, that FET can work better because they are stronger embryos.

I like the names you have picked out. They are truly cute and I am very happy for you even though I have never met you because it is nice to have someone who understands.

Good re: the acupuncture. They said it balances you..... I was thinking about thawing 4, but if the doctor says 3 then maybe I will, like you said....

Let me know what happens and thank you for helping me feel so much better and stronger!
