Thomas and Sophie are here

Post by Shellie »

:D :D :) :) :) :) :) :) :D :D

Hello, I can't believe it has taken me so long to finally log on!
Just to let you know Thomas Brian and Sophie Marie have finally arrived.

It was quite an arrival too. I went into labour the only day we had snow and we had to drive in near blizzard conditions to get to the hospital. I was crying and had my eyes closed most of the way. I hate driving in the snow. After safely arriving at the hospital several hours later and a very effective epidural Thomas Brian popped out after just 3 pushing contractions at 11.14pm on 18th January. Sophie was a different story. She was stuck up under my ribs and they thought it too risky to try and move her so I had an emergency section. Sophie was also born on the 18th but only by 40 seconds, 11.59!

They are both well, Thomas weighed in at 6lbs and Sophie was 5lbs5oz. After a week I made it home and it is certainly hard work. I have had 2 infections since and now I have Mastitis. Thankfully my mum is still here to help out otherwise I don't think I would cope.

I haven't had a chance to check out any other posts (Thomas is crying now) but I want to say congrats to all the others that have since become parents too). It is such a great feeling to watch our bundles and it makes all the worrying and rollarcoasters worthwhile. They truly are our miricle babies....

A very tired Shellie

Congratulations Shellie on the safe arrival of Thomas and Sophie! I teach a gorgeous set of twins called Thomas and Sophie and I'm sure that your two are just as gorgeous.

Sorry to hear that the birth wasn't quite as planned and that you've not been well since but I hope that things are on the up now. And I can remember the tiredness, but it does get easier.

Enjoy the time with your precious babies.
