I am in the early stages of moving to Hampshire and am looking for possible fertility clinics to contact. We are prepared to travel so are trying to build up a list of possibilities.
Julie has mentioned the ARG has an excellent reputation and success rate. Has anybody been? Are there any others you can suggest????
We also have family in the Worcestershire area, so that would also be an option.
I am hoping to egg share and use the Blastocyst transfer method.
Hi Leanne
I am sure lots of people will have lots of views on this one my advice is to get as much info before you start and if possible go and meet them and have a look round as it is important you feel comfortable.
I have had 5 treatments at ARGC and we are hoping to go for one more in the spring. I had one sucessful cycle and now have beautiful twins.
From what I can tell the ARGC do have a very high sucess rate ,they are however very controlling and very focussed on results. I started going there 5 years ago when it was relitively quiet and got to know everyone really well. Now however they are madly busy and the bedside manner so to speach isn't up to much.If you dont ask they dont tell you and if you do ask they dont tell you much!! I had to have a blood test before it all started and several months were no go as my levels were not quite right.Once we started (I was on a short protocol) i was in daily for 11 days and twice a day for the last 2 days! So you must ask about this when you decide on a regime as it may be a lot of traveling for you.
I think that Mr Taranissi is trying to push the barriers in IVF and they do a lot of new procedures there. I had a test on my immune systen which they sent to America and cost about £800 but showed I needed additional drusg so I guess it was worth it.
Sorry to have waffled a bit there is so much to say!! Some people like ARGC some dont but I would say consider them as I ahve found them very good and have 2 wonderful children from them.
Hi,
we live in HAMPSHIRE AND HAD OUR treatment in Buckinghamshire at the CHILTERN Clinic. It is a small, very nice clinic with a small number of staff and we felt very comfortable there. It was about 1 hours drive for us.
Our twins were conceived on our first ICSI attemnpt and are now 5 months old.
good luck
Helen

Hi Leanne,
I am at present attending the ARGC and have been since Jan last year, there success rate is very high and they have alot of up to date procedures,But like Ellie I found the lack of info very frustrating if you don.t ask they don.t tell.. It is very busy there and to be honest all the info I have needed about my immune problems I have located on the internet or on this site..I think they try there best but they have to many people to see and not enough people skills there is one women there who works on reception who doesnt even look at you when she speaks to you..It make me angry why do they have people like that working in such a vulnerable place like an IVF clinic. .But they are helping me and they have diagnosed my infertility problem and they are treating this..I have yet to get pregnant...Give them a go as alot of women there I spoke to had good results and that could be you to just don.t expect a great vast of info.
