Hello both,
Sorry I can't help with either of you. I'm being treated in Cardiff.
My advice would be ask them lots of questions and they may have a support group who may have some answers for you.

Best of luck

Hi,

Sorry to take so long to reply. I have just been thru tmt but couldn't post earlier.

I have just had treatment at Sheffield, and can't recommend them enough. This will be my fifth IVF, and in the past I have had NHS in London. I have had an abandoned and a +ve but m/c - so quite a history. But obviously over time I am not responding as well, so SFC. tried a different protocol and we managed to put back a couple of good embies. Without them, I doubt whether I could have got as far. They take a lot of blood samples from you, which is good to monitor levels. Also, they gave us the choice of what FSH to have. One is synthetic (GONAL F), and costs double, the other is not (MENOPUR), and is half the price. So much more reasonable drug bill - a difference of about £400. The IVF procedure is very reasonable to.

By the way, I live in Surrey, and have managed to send bloods by post! Only when I was required for scanning, did I stay with M&D nearer the time.

The Director (female) is really good on research, and the after ET is excellent. Lots of support, progesterone, and the 2ww is shortened to 11 days instead of 14.

Good luck and go for it.

Hi

We didnt have our treatment at Care in Sheffield but at the Jessop Wing at Sheffield Teaching Hospital. The doctors and all the staff have been brilliant throughout our treatment and even when i was ill on a sunday after my et i had a nurse in constant contact as i suffered from ohss. I believe it takes special sorts of people to work in this sort of medical area and the staff have been great and when we discovered our ivf had worked the staff were just as excited as we were. I hope you receive as attentive care at Care good luck and best wishes

Love
Anne
