Hi,
Today my nurse called with my culture test results. She told I have the vaginal infection and to be treated with the antibiotics. She also told that, they treat the infection to prevent the preterm labour.
Anyone know anything about this? Is it serious? Some how I am feeling little bit relaxed these days, now this I am scared.
Any ideas, advices or suggestions please.
Thanks,
Valli.

I had an bladder infection that showed up in the urine test. I just took a round of antibiotics and have been fine since. I think that's one of the main reasons they do the urine sample at every visit.
I have heard that if left untreated it can turn into a kidney infection and then can cause preterm labor, but I think that it has to go pretty far to get that bad. Hope everything is fine.

Becky and Paige,
Thank you for your replies. Mine is the vaginal infection. I suppose urine test was fine.
I'll start the antibiotics from today.
Thanks,
Valli

Valli,
I'm not sure what the difference is between a urine tract infection and a vaginal infection ?????? I dont think they can be that different. I guess a vaginal infection is like thrush.
Anyway I am sure everything is OK. As I posted on the other thread I had a urine infection at 13 weeks and they didn't seem concerned about that. Just took 5 days antibiotics.
I've heard that infections can only cause prem labour if left untreated and then cause kidney damage. So dont worry.
When is your next scan ... are you having to wait until 20 weeks??
I've been playing around with my scan photos today. Scanned them all in to my computer, printed them off and put them in an album.
All the best and hope you feel better soon. Have you still got flu??
