anyone used Humira?

Post by Ellie »

Hi Everyone,
After my failure in August I thought we had finished with ivf but I just couldnt stop myself from going for a follow up appointment yesterday. It was very positive and the consultant thought that although I had had one lot of IVIG as we had had a low level but no viable pregnancy that this time I would need 2 or more IVIG and at least a month of Humira injections to prevent my imune system destroying the foetus.
I am quite dissapointed that we wont be able to start again until at least June and then it will be dependant on my fsh levels but pleased that we can try something else.
Has anyone else had multiple IVIG or used Humira???

Hi Ellie :D I'm sorry I don't know about Humira, but it's nice to see you back on the boards, and that you've decided to go again !! Also, that your consultant has suggested a new medi.

I hope someone comes forward with some info for you.

Take care

Hi Ellie, I'm planning to ring the hospital with my next AF (due 11 March), and see if they'll fit me in that month. If so, should start downreg end of March for an FET. Can't wait !! :D

Hi Ellie,
I am due to have multiple IVIG when I start my next cycle in hopefully in June. Have not heard of humira but they well may start me on that to as I like you have immune problem..Do you by any chance attend the ARGC in London....I have not had the IVIG before is it a painfull procedure as the nurses at the clinic don.t give much away.

All the best to you

Debbie
yes I am at ARGC,I agree that you don't get much info there but they will tell you if you are persistant enough,I have however adopted the attitude that they know what they are doing and just let them get on with it!!
IVIG doesn't hurt at all the worse part is when they put the canula in the back of your hand, after that it is just a case of sitting on the bed reading a magazine for a couple of hours . Some times they do it just after egg collection so by the time you wake up it is half done!
Maybe we will cycle together in June. Doesn't it seem so long to wait??
