Anyone starting cycle soon?

Post by debbieed »

Hello All,
I am starting my next round of IVF on Saturday (start sniffing for two weeks) and was wondering if there is anyone else starting soon. This is my second attempt and last time I founf the board to be really helpful as I went through the rollercoaster of the treatment. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful last time - don't know why the emies didn't implant - Doc has nothing to offer in way of explanation, just very frustrating.
Just keeping my thoughts positive for this attempt and hoping that there will be a few of you to join me.

Love

Hello Both,
I'll move my posts over to the Feb cycle buddies so that we can easily track where people are at.
Thanks for replying both.

Hello everyone,

Please let me know if I"ve in the wrong place as I don't want to intrude...but I"m dying to "talk" to someone in the same timeline...
Have been lurking because I wanted to "educate" myself before "coming out" on the boards and being more learned about this topic. This is my first IVF and I've already gone through the ER yesterday as a matter of fact. In fact, its just me and my DH who are going through it - none of my family and friends know - but that's our decision. Anyway, wanted to see if anyone could help me undertand something. They retrieved 9 and of that, 4 fertilized. No ICSI. I"m to call them on Fri morn - day of my ET - to see if any last minute changes are warranted. They said 4 out of 9 is less than the 60% fert rate - that really depressed me. My question to you: What's the chance that 1 if not more of my 4 fertilized eggs will make it? Is that a loaded question? I know it only takes 1 to work and its Quality, not Quantity, but I wanted to know if there were any metrics/stats out there that I could base my situation against? Am I in a good place with 4 out of 9?

Any insight would be appreciated...!

Suki...let's think positive :D

Yes you're in a good place with 4 little embies all waiting to go. If it helps with comparisons, some people get none from a larger number of follicles, others end up with only 1 or 2 BUT still get pregnant. They won't put all 4 back (will they? I know the US is much more flexible about this than here in Europe) so you might end up with 2 this time and 2 for freezing, quality allowing of course.

This is the right place if you want it to be or join the February Friends as they're all having treatment right now. It is good to talk about this stuff, there's a ton of information and opinion out there.

Good luck tomorrow with ET. I think you're not the only one having ET tomorrow so your 2ww will be easier if shared with others. Have a look at the test dates thread to check for who is where. When you've been given a test date, let me know and I'll add you to the thread.

Again, good luck tomorrow. 4 is a good number, you do only need 1.

Hugs
Debra.

Hello Suki,
Good luck with the ET - the February friends is a more 'active' thread witha few of us on more or less the same timescales. I'm not due for EC until week commencing 28th so am a little way behind you. This is my second attempt so I know what you are going through.
Well done for having the confidence to join us properly - none of us bite.

Try to relax for the next couple of weeks and hopefully we'll be congratulating you soon.

Love
