Good to hear back from you. Minnow, it sounds like everything is going great! Relax and have fun on your trip and you'll be in great shape for your EC this weekend.
As for me, I have bad news: I won't be going through a February cycle after all. I'm still trying to process this and am, of course, incredibly depressed. I got up at 5:00 AM and headed downtown for an ultrasound (which I should have had performed yesterday with the bloodwork, but a problem prevented that). The tech noted a "cyst" in the ovary--explained that it it might have been the follicle that had released an egg in the last cycle. At any rate, the "cyst" is nothing other than an enlarged follicle. Just a little while ago the Dr.'s office called and said we had to cancel the cycle this month because of the cyst and because my bloodwork showed a high level of FSH. Actually, my FSH level, which was 14-something was not much higher than it was last month on day 3: 13.6. So I think the real problem is the cyst.
So I emailed the DR. with some questions, but the upshot is that I have to abandon all attempts. We have over $5,000 worth of drugs in our fridge and our closet that I have to look at every day. Hopefully we can try again next month.
Anyways, I won't go on with my depressing tale. I wish you all the best of luck, and I'll check in and see how you're doing.

Sorry to have been a stranger, but been at the hospital most of the time with my Dad, thanks for all your kind words. He is stable and there seems to be really tiny improvements which is all you can ask for after a stroke.
I have my FET tomorrow! (assuming my 3 frosties thaw ok) It has come round so fast and this is the first time I have hardly thought about my treatment. I am off work from today till 7th March, a good long holiday. My appt is at 12.30 so fingers crossed!
Debbie, how you getting on? Minnow, great news about the follies, Friday thats fab.
Hopefully I'll have more time to keep up to date with all you Feb Friends now I don't have any work for a bit.

Hello All,
Wendy - glad to hear that your Dad is making small improvements - that is good news. Best of luck with your FET. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.
I hope everyone else os going ok.
Things could be better with me - I have had a very painful shoulder for a couple of days and yesterday it got so bad I went to the hospital. After some investigating it seems that I have a urine infection!!! The Doc also thought that the painful shoulder could be caused by flu!!!!! I have felt a bit off for a few days but nothing too bad and I just put it down to the drugs. I'm now on antibiotics and am hoping that the flu (if that is what is is) will just go away. The clinic said that the antibiotics would be fine and that things should be ok to still go ahead as I have over a week to go before EC and ET. I am worried that things will get put off though. I am now off sick from work - unheard of for me (only had one day of sick in 6 years) and have spent the day lazing infront of the TV and doing nothing - also unheard of for me but I really want to shake this infection off asap. To add to all of this my thyroxine levels (take this for underactive thyroid) have been unstable and my doc is keeping a close eye on it - so at the moment am taking a shedload of different drugs and have to have urine tests, blood tests ans scans next week - feel a bit like a medical experiment!!!!!!! Still, it will be worth it I hope.
Trying to keep the PMA

donna - i do feel for you and the frustration and disappointment you must feel right now. lets hope that you will be able to get going next month with none of these complications.
wendy - it's great to hear that your father has shown some improvements and that you are holding up amidst all this stress. hope that FET went smoothly and your little embryos are now snuggly in place.
Debbie - what a pain that you are feeling so off. as if the drugs werent enough to deal with, flu and a urinary infection too! make the most of the time off and really do take care and build up those reserves. maybe you're tuned into richard and judy on tv like me!!
my egg collection went really well this morning i think. they got 15 eggs in all, which is great and my husband was delighted to hear that his sample was excellent..... men!! i am a little bit uncomfortable but actually the after effects of the GA are very few and i am feeling fine. we will now wait to hear from the lab tomorrow morning when we will find out how many have fertilised. they then need to make it through to monday morning when they go back in... i dont think i will relax completely until that happens.
anyway, take care all and have a good weekend.

Hello Minnow,
I'm not watching TV now as the computer is upstairs in the office but I'll be going back down soon. Glad to hear that your EC went ok. I know what you mean about not relaxing until they go back in - I was the same last time - I just couldn't relax. I also got quite upset when I rang our clinic the following day to find out how many eggs had fertilised as only 2 out of our 6 had. However, when we went for the ET they said that 5 out of the 6 had fertilised - some of them were just slower to get there. So whatever they tell you tomorrow don't give up hope. Anything can happen. With 15 eggs you should get enough to freeze some which would be great.
Have a gentle evening

Minnow - how are your little embies doing? 15 eggs wow, I have never had a number anywhere near that. How are you feeling? Did you say you got a GA, I think if I ever needed to have another EC I may push for that other than sedation. Fingers crossed for Monday for you. Are you taking time off work?
Debbie - Sorry you are feeling crap, my dh has been complaining of a sore shoulder as well, there must be so much stuff going about at this time of year. Its better to have this now, get better then have your EC.
Have both of you got nice weekends planned? I'm just taking it easy, dh is away to the football today so one of my friends is coming over to make me lunch and watch sex in the city DVDs (only good point of 2ww getting spoilt rotten). Not going to go in and see my Dad today, just going every other day at the moment after a lecture from my Mum and dh about taking things a bit easier.
Speak to you soon.

Hello All,
Im still hanging on in there - taking the antibiotics and having a REALLY lazy time to try to shift this infection. My shoulder is still really achy - although the intense pain has now gone. Hopefully a test next week will show that the urine infection ahs cleared up - I'm alo just hoping that the painful shoulder wasn't really flu but was just some random aches and pains.
Wendy - glad to hear that you have been taking it a bit easier. The 2ww is really the worse isn't it.
Minnow - I hope you are doing ok.
Have a lazy Sunday all.

hi girls - glad to hear that you're taking it easy, as indeed i am with little encouragement needed! yes i did have a GA which was absolutely fine and from which i really am feeling very few effects. i am a bit of a baby with pain so i was quite happy to be knocked out. was delighted with my fifteen eggs and when the lab phoned the next morning they said that 13 had fertilised although three were abnormal, so that leaves us with ten.. i have obviously been hoping and praying all weekend that they make it through until monday. i think my hospital normally does ET after 48 hours, but since they dont do them on a sunday, mine will go in on monday. should be 8 cell i think by then. i have no idea what impact that has or how it changes things, but lets hope they are hanging in there.
i felt a little emotional today just imagining the fact that we had the start of some embros just waiting to be transplanted. we have created something at least, which is more than i've ever had reason to believe before. was planning to have an acupuncture session before hand to "relax my cervix" but since i'm at the hospital for 09.30 i really dont want to get stressed out getting somewhere else before. i shall just look forward to a session in the afteroon to help bed them in!
i decided in the end to tell my mother the day before EC and she has actually been incredibly supportive whilst still being able to stand back a little. am very glad to have made that decision.
Debbie, i hope you're starting to feel a bit better and shake off your bug and Wendy i hope you're managing to stay positive anfd look after those precious embryos!
take care all.

Hello All,
hope things are going ok with everyone. I'm still feeling tired but now don't know if it is the drugs kicking in (I felt really tired towards the end last time) or whether it is still the infection. I'm really nervous about going to the clinic tomorrow as I'm still worried that they will stop the treatment.
Minnow - hope today went well. Just spend the next 2 weeks taking it easy. When do you test? Do you have to have a blood test or a hpt?
Wendy - I hope things are still ok with you.
Take care everyone

hi all...hope things are ok. Debbie, good luck with the appointment tomorrow. let's hope they find some lovely looking follicles and that they give you the go ahead to continue..
wendy - hope you are coping with the 2WW. from your posts that i've read, you sound pretty good. keep the positivity going.
Well this morning saw the ET which actually went very smoothly and felt ony slightly uncomfortable. they transferred two 6 cell embryos, one a grade 1 and one a grade 2, which is obviously good news.
nevertheless we both came away feeling a bit low as the other 8 embryos which had fertilised were not of a good enough quality to be frozen. i actually dont mind the thought of going through another full cycle emotionally (at this stage), but the disappointment is more about everything having been so positive up to now and now wondering whether this is an indication of the fact that my eggs are generally poor quality. the embryologist had said that the sperm sample looked excellent, but the embryos remaining had been developing very slowly. makes me think that it's little wonder i havent got pregnant naturally if most of the embryos we produce are not too good. Dh seemed to remember her saying that they could have been implanted now, but not frozen, although i am not sure he got that correct.
so,
i just have to hope that these two do well and want to hang in there. i will get back to my positive attitude in no time i'm sure. my test date is March 7th and they offer blood tests at the clinic. the consultant also said if i wanted to test a bit earlier i could, but i shall try and hang on!
hope you are all having a good evening. keep me posted on how you're doing.....

Debbie - hope your appointment went well today - let us know?
Minnow - great 2, 6 cell embryos are good are they not? I saw the thing you wrote on the test thread about quality of other embryos being more likely to indicate a better chance - I've always had frosties but never a positive from the original embryos, who knows, there doesn't seem to be too much logic to it all apart from if you get to a ET with good quality embryos you have as good a chance as anyone else. Just look after the 2 that are in there. Are you off work for all or any of the 2ww? What are you planning to do with yourself? Did they give you progesterone pessarys?
I went to the cinema last night to see the Aviator, it was good and had pizza, it was a really nice night and the most normal time I've had in ages. Planning to take it easy today and go in and see my Dad tonight, will finish watching series 6 sex in the city dvds and maybe read my book, oh and stuff my face with healthy food.
Speak to you both soon

wendy, thanks for your words of encouragement. i'm sure you are right. actually getting to ET is a big relief and the fact that our two embryos are great quality is of course good news. it feels rather strange now that all the appointments have finished. Dh had to remind me last night to take the pessary, just as i was falling asleep - i must remember my few responsibilities! rather messy arent they? the consultant didnt recommend taking anything else. he felt baby aspirin wasnt really relevent in my case, so to just relax. i think they take the attitude that life must carry on and once they're in, it's really up to nature. in fact, after the ET i was up and gone after around ten minutes and it wasnt because they need the room.
have had some twinges today and no doubt every ache and pain will seem important over the next two weeks. I am currently working from home and really dont have much work at the moment so i am able to take it easy. nevertheless, I have been up and about today, down to the shops etc and am assuming that light activity has no harm. what do you think? tomorrow we head to manchester to watch the Man U v AC Milan match if it isnt snowed off. not sure how this fits in with the 2WW(!) but as long as I'm warm and not jumping around, I'm sure it will be fine. we're then spending a few days around Harrogate, staying in nice hotels and just enjoying the break. so, we return on sunday and by then almost half of the wait will have taken place.
I really enjoyed the Aviator too. cinema is a great way to be distracted. must try that next week!
Debbie - hoping all went well and that you've got good news. thinking of you and crossing everything for you!!

I am sure what you have planned will be fine. I have avoided the football, Dundee Utd, not because of the games themselves, well a wee bit, I tend to get a bit tense , but because of the pub and the rushing about to get there. At least at Man u, you are unlikely to get worked up because they are crap like my team.
A few days away will be nice though, passes the time.
The pessarys are yucky, to be honest and I know this is minging, but they are better up your bum (who'd have thought I'd ever say that ), really.
I'm all for any light activity, I've been to the cinema, shops (dh carries the stuff), in to see my Dad and had friends round. Anything to pass the time.
Enjoy the football.
