Its been a long while since I've posted but I have still found this message board really helpful in getting through the last six months. I had my embyo transfer on Friday and am now on my 2 ww. The embryos they used are both grade 1 and we have been able to freeze another 5 embryos.
So this time everything has gone really well so far. On our last treatment we had to abandon the cycle before egg collection so to get this far is amazing. I am just having trouble saying positive without getting to carried away. The past two days has already seemed like a lifetime and a week on Friday seems like a lifetime away.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get through these 2 weeks? Also I'm a bit worried about what I should and shouldn't be doing my dh won't let me do anythign round the house and I'm off work until Wedensday. But I think I should be doing something before I go nuts, as long as I don't do any heavy lifting - does anyone have any tips??
I am on the 2ww as well, I started on Thursday after a FET.
I have left sanity behind and just go for the thought that I am pregnant until someone tells me I am not, I did this last time as well and got my first positive result (although ended in mc).
I'm on holiday until after my result. So to amuse myself I have stocked up on Dvd's (sex in the city, cold feet), Magazines and books (just finished the divinci code which kept my attention). And I've been watching the IVf programmes on discovery health. Like you my dh is doing everything for the time being, make the most of it. Go out for the odd walk, get your dh to take you out for lunch or dinner, or to the cinema, just whatever you feel like doing.
I was told no heavy lifting, no sex, no hot baths, healthy diet. Every clinic seems to give different advice.
At the end of the day its nice to have a wee rest and a chance to sit down and read a book or catch up with crap on the telly.

Lyns....Hi and well done on getting to ET + further than last time. 2wws are usually quite a stressful time of over analysing and anxiously hoping the days pass quickly but they never do...they s-t-r-e-t-c-h soooooooooo long!
Re. tips. My clinic say to continue doing normal activities but avoid anything too strenuous that's not 'usual' for you eg. if you exercise frequently normally, carry on but don't suddenly start running long distances. Other clinics suggest taking things a bit easier. On here we tend to the extreme - sit on the sofa with a huge pile of magazines/dvds and ask our respective DHs to do everything else!!!!!!!! Otherwise, you can consider it the first 2 weeks of pregnancy and follow the standard advice for that - no drugs, alcohol (or v.limited), reduced caffeine, avoid the stuff that is now well known - unpasturised cheeses etc.
If you look on the test dates thread (whilst there send me a note with your own test date), you can see you're in good company, there are quite a few new 2wwers. Some are on the January buddies board so if you want to chat there, you're amongst friends.
When i was on the 2WW i felt as helpless as a little kitten! i didnt know what to do, what not to do, my clinic were very relaxed aswel. i cut out alcohol as I had been tee-total for a while, cut out caffeine as my diet is mainly caffeine free anyway - to be honest all i felt like eating for the first few days was Chocolate (only vice) which I KNOW has caffeine but thats it!! I rested lots and took it day by day. The only advice we got was to treat it as if you are pregnant, which we did, which I guess technically I was.........just no sex. But i had hot baths still which is something people are told not to do. the main reason I was off work for 2 weeks was that EC had been a real pain for me as they retrieved lots of eggs so I was very sore and swollen.
I have no regrets about anything as I am now 14 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins.
Hope all goes well, keep us posted
