How's everyone doing on the 2WW?

I'm now on day 8. Sometimes I think it has worked then as soon as I get a strange stomach pain I think not. The waiting is killing me!

I hope this isn't too much information but did anyone have 'windy' problems whilst on the treatment? I've had a funny tummy since the EC, I don't know if to ring the clinic to see if I can take anything, also I've had really bad headaches. I've only been having decaf tea/coffee and water.

Going out today, there's someone leaving at work so they are having a pub lunch. First time I've been out since the snow started as it's been quite bad in Durham and I didn't fancy getting stuck and have to dig myself out! It's all turning to slush now.

Lesley,

Sorry to hear you're having a bad time of it. The 2ww is definitely one of the worst waits in the history of humankind. Hang in there on the wait I know it's agonising but you've gotten through 8 days so more than half way through now.

On the stomach problems, try giving the decaf tea/coffee a miss. Apparently there put A LOT of chemicals in decaf to make them decaf and that you would in fact be better off to have a small cup of the real thing than several cups of the decaf stuff.
Give it a try and hope it helps,
Loads of luck and strength over the next few days

Love

Hi Lesley

On the same day as you, doing ok, feels like its dragging but I have not gone mad yet.

Yes, the wind thing, a major side effect of the pessarys, not very fetching is it, I feel like a balloon!

I agree with Edi about laying off the decaf stuff, I've just drunk water, milk and fruit juice so it probably wont help the wind but maybe the headaches.

Stay sane & enjoy your lunch

I've heard/read the same as Edi, that decaff is not necessarily a healthier option.

I know some aren't all that great but do you like any herbal teas? I don't mean those dodgy fruit teas (sorry but I hate them and their stinky smells), but real caffeine-free herbal jobbies. Rosehip can be nice as can peppermint (and very good for dodgy tummies). The only one to avoid as far as I know is raspberry leaf as it can prompt the uterus into action, very useful when heavily pg not so if ttc.

Hi
My test date is on march 7th. Hope things go well. Does any one of you have any feeling. this is my second ivf cycle. In my first cycle, I had severe and continous pain in my lower back. And it turned out negative. But this time I have no feeling except when I overdo things. No symptoms like I am pregnant etc. Is it a good sign. Are any one of you having the same?

Wish you all the best. Hope everyone's turn positive.

Raji, re. your Q. on how you feel during the 2ww. We've debated this often and the answers always come back that there is is no answer! Some people get sore boobs, others not. Some have AF-type twinges and feel different, others feel nothing at all. In short there's no single way of saying 'this is how a +ve 2ww feels'. Sorry!

Taken the advice and cut down on my tea and coffee. Headaches not as bad but I've had to resort to Fybogel for the other problem. I know these are safe because I had them when I pregnant with my son many years ago.

This 2WW is different from the first. I think it's because I've taken the whole time of work so I haven't much to distract me. I've still got the sore boobs which I didn't have at this stage last time.

I went for lunch with work on Friday and it was nice catching up. They had a big night out on Saturday which I had to miss, it's not much fun not drinking. Anyway I fell asleep as usual on the settee by 9.30!

Only 4 days to go until test day, I have to go to the clinic for a blood test in the morning and don't get the results until after 3pm(another wait).
