Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie (have never been on a message board ever) but have been drawn to your board because of all your supportive posts. I have started my first IVF cycle 2 w ago and have been delayed 1 more w b/c of a breakthrough follicle that was detected on day 1. Does anyone know about these? I'm not sure what happens next. Thanks for the help and support!

Brief history:
myomectomy for massive fibroid-12/01
5 IUIs over the past two years
lap to get rid of scar tissue-5/04
Hysteroscopy to get rid of polyp - 12/04

Hi Paige, I've not heard of a breakthrough follicle before. Have you tried to google it? What did your clinic say? do you have another apt. with them this week?

Sorry I can't be of any help, support is all I can offer.

Let us know what happens at your next apt. Have a look at the February Buddies thread too, the people on there are getting ready for tmt too so sometimes it helps to all chat together.

take care
Debra.

Thank you all for your support. I will let you know what happens this week! There is not much info on btf on google, but if I find out more I will let you know. And best of luck to all of you! Making contact with this board has made me feel so less alone and has been a godsend. Thank you!

Hi Paige

Welcome to the board. You will find everyone on here really helpful especially when you need a bit of a rant, a cyber shoulder to cry on or just general info and support when you need it.

Wishing you lots of success with your treatment. I'm sorry but I am not sure what a breakthrough follicle is - I suspect it's a follicel which has formed earlier than it should during down regging perhaps :?
