BFP !!!!

Post by sukale »

BFP!

Doc said I can tell people - I'm still pinching myself because I don't believe it. I don't really have "lucky" things happen to me - this is the first and best.
I'm also afraid to tell people as I don't want to do this too early - I think there are additional tests in the next 12 weeks that will determine more info?

I'm now plotting how best to tell my husband and my folks, etc. It has been a long road to conceiving...

I want to call him, but I think I'll go buy him flowers and wait for him at the train station. I'll tell him in the car. On the way home, I was going to stop my my parents' - they live 10 mi from me - I'll tell them tonight! I just can't hold it in...I was going to wait but I think I can't! And then when we get home we'll call DH's parents...

Or hold on...maybe I'll just go get some apple cider "champagne" for both of us to drink and wait for DH at the train station. Then maybe we'll just wait til the wekend to tell the parents. I"ll have them over for dinner and we can tell them there...

Any creative ideas? I can't lie to him - but I almost want to tell him at home in our house but I have to pick him up at the station - I have the car today -

congratulations!!! fantastic news. however you decide to tell your dh, i'm sure it will be the best news he's ever heard!
if you're not sure re the parents, why not give yourselves a couple of days to enjoy the news yourselves and then tell them at the weekend.

So I think you may all know that I had a huge fight with my DH the night before my beta. I made him sleep in the guest room. And I cried and cried and rubbed my belly and cried alone. The next morn (yesterday) felt horrible because of that and of the negative energy I might have channelled to my embies. When I found out I was BFP, I bought fresh white daisies and met my DH at the train station. Before he could ask me about the beta results, I thrust the flowers at him and said "Remember our first date? You picked me up and gave me fresh white daisies knowling I love them and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Let's do that again. I'm really sorry - I was a big crybaby jerk and I love you. But you need to know that you hurt me and here's why and here's what I'd like to happen if it happens again." we kissed, he said "Fair enough - I love you and I'm sorry too." With that out of the way then I blurted out "You're going to be a Daddy!"
The whole way home he was dazed and smiling broadly and kept saying "Holy Cr*p"...! I'm going to be a Daddy!"

Did I have symptoms?
Sore boobs - not the soreness from getting your period - 2 degrees less on the sore factor, but more consistent and dull sore. Ya know? And definite bubbleitis in my tummy - I had to wonder if it was the veggies I was eating - I eat lots of greens and radishes and turnips. A little more frequent pee trips to the bathroom than normal, but definitely in the middle of the night - always without fail I HAD to pee. Thought that was from the Estrace I was taking. And my belly has been a bit distended - the lower part that we try so hard to keep flat with numerous situps - that area has been harder and distended. Thought it was the restriction from abs exercises that made it - but then why wouldn't it have been flabby as opposed to hard and distended? I ate spicy foods like normal - hot sauce on my eggs, soups, sprinkled hot pepper flakes on pizza, etc. Was a bit more sleepy at the end of the day/night - and would catch myself falling alseep at 11PM instead of the noraml 11:30 PM or midnight. That could have been the PIO. Those BTW, I find feel better when I lie on my stomach and DH gives me the shots that way. I used to take them standing up and just putting my weight on the opposite bum that he was shooting. But I think it has to do with the relaxation of the area when you're on your tummy. And I had also changed it from getting the PIO shots at 9pm to like around 6pm - so I'm walking around more and getting it earlier. I generally take an evening hot shower and after I get the shot, and walk around, I take a hot shower around 8:30pm and it feels good on my backside. I did exercise - I walked for 30 mins about 3 times/wk - brisk but not huffing and puffing. And I did arm weights about 2 times/wk.

My protocol was 9 days of Lupron, 7 days of Stim (Rep and Gonal F), a 3 day transfer and beta 11 days post transfer. I've been on PIO shots since post transfer and will need to continue them for a while - 1cc 2x/day. This was my first IVF.

While I wouldn't change a thing about my protocol - or what I did - maybe take out the fight before the beta - although I like to believe it might have "fired" them up a bit!

So now I'm tracking all you up and coming ladies for your beta!!! This group is magical if not hilarious and I"m cheering you all on!
Thank you for your well wishes - right back at you for your news!
