well I can't get Chinese take-away out here in the German sticks, and German chinese just like German curries are so Germanified that you can't recognise them (unless you are lucky enough to live in a city like Berlin).

On the sea weed thing - the chemists over here market some sea weed preparation as a natural way to get through the menopause because of the Oestrogen I think - it's even advertised on the telly, apparently that's why Japanese women don't suffer from menopause problems .....(sounds like male propoganda to me but there might be something in it  )

Love Julie from Germany

In California they tell us not to eat soft cheeses like brie, goat cheese, Mexican cheese, and any blue veined cheese. Those cheese make up one of the major food groups here, but I don't know if they are eaten as much in Europe. It's because they can have some sort of bacteria that can cause miscarriage.

Some cheeses I know are okay are cheddar, mozzerella, parmesean and hard cheeses like gouda, guyere, etc.

I love cheese :D

Hi, monsodium glut, I found recently in a frozen vegetable stir fry. It went straight in the bin. The stir fry had a sought of sauce frozen into it. But from the packet it just looked like frozen chinese vegetables. Can also be found in things like lasagne, sauces etc, you find it in Pringles too. Also in these new dip crisps. Not all the flavours have it, but i look at everything. Happy shopping...... Love Jjj x

you have to avoid pate and fish (some anyway because of pollutants like mercury), eggs have salmonella, then there are hormones in everything animal.....we moved here also because of the yummy food but.........

need to buy organic (can you be sure???) and we are broke - I bet most of you are too.... maybe we should start a recipe thread??? "bread and.........")

no wonder pregnant women end up eating coal!

(but is it radioactive???????????????????)
sorry, just having an hysterical laugh hahahahahahhhahahahh

forgive me..

Actually you can make spinach yummy with garlic and cream (wecan have garlic can't we...............?) or as a curry with garlic, potatoes and onions yum yum. They sell it here as "gloop" which is frozen spinach mashed ina a kind of blobby sauce, like thick soup and they eat it with pasta...OK if you don't look at the gloop!
