Ive finished 'baby trail' today, it was a good read!! Read the whole book in under a week!! It was easy to read and easy to understand, being that I am on the baby trail too!!!
I thought at the end she would say 'I'm pregnant' so a little disapointed with the ending but still a good book!!!

Another good read, albeit a bit harrowing and nothing to do with IVF is 'Sickened' by Julie Gregory.

It's a true story about a young girl (Julie Gregory) whose mother suffers from munchausens by proxy and how she is treated by her family. I did get upset but it was a good read.

Anyone fancy reading my O.U ( Open University)?? I have a deadline to do this weekend but every time I get on the computer I get hooked on this site Ahhhh will you all please stop writing such interesting stuff and write about Heterosexism instead ( my current tma) then I can do both things at once

Heard the D. code is awsome but can't fit any reading time in, apparently there is another one related to it ( can't remember the name - will find out) which is meant to be even better!!!

A quick read, not fertility related, " five people you meet in heaven" think thats what it's called.
Funny one for the blokes ( if they have a funny/dirty mind ) the law of the playground by Jonathon Blyth.. it is very funny - if you like that kind of thing, it tells funny memories of when we were at school, it says "A puerile and disturbing dictionary of playground insults and games".
Happy reading

Leanne, the problem with the 'other' Dan Brown book (Angels and Demons which was written first) is it uses a near identical structure. I read them back to back on holiday in the UK and wished I'd left a year between them. Perfectly good airport/beach/garden reading.

Also, I finished Empress Orchid this week and lost complete interest in the final 100 pages.....yawn. Interesting upto that point to learn about life in the Forbidden City but I couldn't be bothered to finish it which I've almost never done before.

Maybe we can tip our all time fave books too? There are 3 books I reread about once a year.

1. Pride & Prejudice - Austen
2. A day in the life of Ivan Denisovich - Solzhenitsyn
3. Love in the time of cholera - Marquez

I adore them.

Debra.

Debra - when I saw your earlier post about enjoying the Empress O, I earmarked it. It really pees me off when that happens.

Another thing that has peed me off .. On hol I was reading Belle de Jour - Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl, which I'd bought at the airport. I was about half way through and left it on my sun lounger one afternoon, while we went off somewhere. When I got back, someone had knicked it. Aaaagghh !! I refuse to buy it again.

I've got to say that my favourite author is a chap called Carl Hiassen. He writes crime fiction with powerful ecological messages, and a wicked sense of humour. Manic, fast-moving and sometimes more than a little absurd .. he's a genius ! Can't wait for the next one ...

I read "Baby Trail" as well and thought it was a good light hearted read for such a serious and heartbreaking experience

When going through the 2ww or any other part of the cycle I would recommend either of the following: Meg Cabot or Jane Green. She doesn't hit on fertility issues, they are just good easy reading and I found when I was in need of a real page-turner to pass the time they certainly helped me :!: :!:

I will give the Ben Elton book a go :!:

Just had to say thanks to everybody who recommended Inconceivable by Ben Elton

It's fantastic - if anyone hasn't read it, then give it a go. I couldn't put it down. :D

Sandra

I know what you're saying - it's just that it's such a serious and sole-destroying thing to go through that it is quite nice reading the male perspective :!:

I've come to the conclusion that he either did loads of research or has first hand experience :? :!:

Hi girls thought I'd pop in here...

agree about the film of the book "inconceivable"really good but very close to home (watched in in German with step daughter, couldn't tell her why tears rolled down my face the whole time). I didn't find the "funny bits" funny as they are not funny for anyone who's been there. Alsdo thought the strain on the relationship bit was good - like it can be devastating and this was acknowledged albeit in a round about way...

Guess what I've got here.....the biggest collection of mills and boons outside the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not joking, I started reading them for therapy, away from intellectual analytical c@@%p that my job was, great in hotels when away and on planes. When I had my breakdown in 2003 I couldn't read a sentence (concentration goes out the window) anyway now they are escapism and I know they are absolute rubbish but they do the job..so if anyone wants me to recommend a M&B..just ask

my sister is a writer but I can't tell you who she is...she's on Amazon and also a good beach read...would be ideal for a 2ww..

was given The DV code for my birthday..dh nicked it so I have to wait for him to finish it cheeky bugger
