Hi Nik

Just to say i agree with Cheryl, IVF seems really daunting (2 years ago I said I would NEVER consider it, but look at me now!!!) but you find an inner strength to cope - and being on here helps

Good luck with your treatment, hope it all goes well for you

Hi Nik

Just echoing what the others say. IVF is not an easy ride, It is emotionally tough - but I found not as tough as facing a life without a child. And when you get that +ve result it is all worth it!! :D :D

Besides thats what the board here is for, to help us all throught the good and bad times, the highs and lows. :)

i wish you the best of luck in your treatment!! :)

Love always

Toni xx

Hi All

I'll be watching on Tues too. I'll be telling my friends, family and colleagues(those who know) to watch it too. Then they just might have a smiggin of understanding of what I go through

You never know, we might pick up some tips too.

Just thought I would bring this back to the top as it is airing tonight :!:

I shall be watching this and hoping that it is helpful - I'm sure it will be.

Anyway hopefully we can compare views tomorrow. Happy viewing everyone. :)

Let's hope it puts paid to people's ignorance about IVF once and for all :?

I'm with LittleP on this one.

I'm sick & tired of negative press about couples undergoing IVF. The latest being reports that couples are demanding that clinics give them twins as they want to get their families over & done with in one go.

Okay, hands up all those on this board that have demanded twins from their clinics?

Hopefully the programme will show that we're not all 'self-centred career girls' who think that we can manipulate our fertility to fit in with our lifestyles. That we are simply couples who, for one reason or another, can't concieve and need help. Help that is often painful, emotionally draining and expensive - with no guarantee of success but hopefully worth it in the end.

On the same page as Jules, am I being a poof not watching it??? :?
I'm just wondering whether its better to be prepared or whether its better not to know and then I wouldn't have time to worry about what was coming. First time nerves I guess - maybe its better to be informed.
Here's hoping positive informative things of it and not some 'reality tv' drivel that seems to pray on other people's dilemmas in life.

I agree with Jude.......

"you shouldn't have left it so long......" and "well you did put your career first" being the worst kind of comments that we get....

well actually (you $$£!£"$£%^&^) I didn't bring a child into the world in an unhappy marriage or financially/emotionally insecure environment.............. or reproduce like a rabbit to get a council flat and let the state pick up the bill aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
Until parents conceiving naturally have to fill in forms, prove they are responisble respectable and God knows what and pay for the pleasure..

Girls

Afraid I have to rant a bit!! Sorry!!

I thought this programme was good and does shed a bit of light for the less informed on the day to day emotional trauma us girls have to go through...........

However.............I am fed up with everything constantly portraying that IVF works first or second time..........just like that!!!

I know this is from my own bitter stand point of having had 6 fertility txs but really shouldn't difficult people who are in tatters be shown to display the true grim reality to the rest of the nation?

Shouldn't they show someone having to go through Surgical Sperm Retreival only to find they will never have their own children?? What about having to go for bloods everyday/other day for 4 weeks?? The constant scans, the battery of injections, the 5 hour IVIG infusions??

Maybe I am being harsh but the reality is not always one or two goes and bingo!

Rant over.....sorry if I have annoyed anyone but sick of people (generally people I know) making it out like it is not a big deal!!!!

Take care

Jenfx
