Hello Liitle P, Welcome! :D

Are u doing Ivf? Icsi? Iui? Is this your first go? How long have you been trying?

I am trying to avoid certain food, I just figure the sooner the better, and then hopefully i'll have a better chance! Basically been eating fresh veggies, fruit, and salads.... No booze, no chocolate, no caffine, no fizzy drinks, no crisps, no chinese take aways. Only pure food, no preservatives, etc....
I am taking vitamins, for expecting and conception! Ive been told to avoid Vit.A but will check this with my GP tomorrow. Dont know why? I'll let u know ok.

I am doing IVF - this will be 4th attempt. 3rd was successful but early m/c. I had to pause for a while as they thought I was too light for pregnancy to be sustained so had to put at least a stone on

Anyway, bigger now - having eaten all the foods you are now avoiding, takeaways, cakes, etc, etc - hopefully it won't have done any harm :!:

I don't have caffeine in anything and I try and eat vegetables as often as possible. I take a multi-vitamin every day and folic acid, but have been told there are other vitamins to try - it does seem to be one thing after another

I would love to know your doctor's opinion on Vit A

hey whizzy bizzy bang bang! lots going on here whoopi!

(had a bad day - you ladies gave me a big kick THANK YOU!!!!)

Little P - had a giggle cos normally my user name is "BigJ" - different here as wanted a nickname that people really call me ...anyway it tickled me.. sorry - I'll sub-sign bigJ for this cycle:lol:

Hi Randar!! super that a couple of us "life begins at at 40 (did it?)" have shuffled our Zimmer frames over here - I keep on saying to my body "woman you have seen life and you've got to be wise enough to manage it now!!!" I coin a new phrase here and now...the WWW's (wise womb women) - means all the idea and old gear..Sorry is that bad taste?? not meant to be. just that I am thrilled that (to finally answer the question) with premature ovarian failure at 34 - in summary early menopause - and using HRT (hormone replacement therapy) - resembles a female cycle so the ageing effects of menopause are prevented -my sweetie pie endrometrium made it to 7mm on day 14 of last cyle and that was an achievement believe me! (I also have a couple of fibroids which might complicate things  but am trying not to think about them)

Hi Nicolamark, Brinilass, Sher8, Sue e, minnow, jules g,...

Nicola - how are you feeling?

I am soooooooooo booooooored waiting for our appointment on 14th April. Day 9 as non-smoker - still having the odd glass of wine but eating good stuff (hey Germans can do the whole wheat museli thing man...). Need to keep my weight stable. Lots of exercise with the doggies - we have 4 -all rescue dogs - sweeeeeeeeeeeeties -

My mum comes for a week from the UK tomorrow - for a week - we shall pray at her altar she's such a star :D ! she has a "baby fund" for us without which we would be lost..

God bless you all and baby dust in all directions for May

Big J : I am feelin' fine actually, just hanging about waiting to start in May, seems like a life time away, but I am sure it'll soon be here!!
Well, your appointment is sooner, is this a consultation on 14th April? How long will u stay in Spain? When does your actually treatment start? May assume!!

Little P: I saw my GP today, but forgot to ask about the Vit A had 3 other things I need to see her about, and just as I was walking out to the car park, I thought 'Oh no, I forgot to ask about Vit A'
Sorry, my head is like a seive sometimes! Had a stressy day at work too!!
But hey, if anyone else knows, let us know ok.

Hi you lot

We are the "Mayflowers!" (that was dh not me after I told him about this group!). My mum is more corny than I am

Nicola: yup, we are 14th April in Barcelona, but staying for 3 days cos the cheap flights worked out better and more than covered the hotel (really honest mum!). Actually, I just decided we need a break as dh has really nursed me the last 1.5 years through depression and it's a little treat for him kiss kiss.

Apparently at the 1st appt, as long as you bring history of tests like blood group, HIV, Clamidia etc with you - oh and of course the all important Spermiogram (I call it the spermie sport score- dh's are super sporty and hunky but they just have to swim in a team..(antibody clumping - sorry I have to joke a bit cos it's so not funny and it helps me cope) is quite simple. They explain it all and then allocate a donor they then test a cervix catheter thingy for the ET bit next time and off you go...

As I am on HRT I don't have to wait for AF, or at least it's predictable, so they can cycle me with the donor more or less right off I guess. Anyway, normally the ET date (as long as wonderful angel donor lady is successful, and the fertilisation bit too) is 4-6 weeks after 1st appointment so I'll be ET-ing somewhere in May......we hope please...

I am trying to keep PMA and not think about anything else that happened at the fertility clinic this morning (in another post)

love JulieT

picking mum up at the airport this evening - she stays for a week. Can't wait to give her a big mega hug and show her what will be happening when we go to Barcelona. She is an angel and without her financial help this would all be out of the question. I was worried when we accepted the help that it would put us under pressure to "provide value for money" but that is not happening atall.

She is so proud that I have given up smoking and got myself (mentally after my depression) well enough to hit the baby trail in full swing.

We are so lucky to have that kind of support.

Love to you all ..isn't the waiting to start terrible???

Hello Girls, me again!!
I now have my appointment for consultation with the doc, on 15th April. So just 1 day after you Julie!! Still on target to start in May :D
Just been told that day the doc may request an ultra scan, at a cost of £125. Feelin' a bit pee'd off about this as already had it done at hospital last year, but they just need to check it again, apparently.
Bloody hell, £125 for a scan, blooming riduculus (can't spell, I know!! LOL)
But hey it's got to be done, and we want our babe, so can't really complain.

We are saving our own money, to pay. We are a little short. My mum has offered to lend us the money, of course would have to pay it back.

Hi girls,

Thanks taylorjools for the welcome. Been around but havent posted much since dont know when we will actually start so i feel a bit of a fraud being here. Meeting with the consultant monday so hopefully we will know more then.

that does seem like a lot to pay for a scan nicolamark, but like you say if it needs doing you just have to go for it. It is hard though as it all adds up. Im lucky in a way as i get 2 goes on nhs, but i am already worrying about how we would fund any further goes as i know i could not give up unless deep down i knew it was right to do so.

Hope all are well and looking forward to sharing the ivf route with you.

Love

sue e xx

Hi sue, I am sure you're not a fraud! With this baby trail you just never know????
I mean I am due to start in May but hey, when we have the consultation on 15th April that may all change, but I will hang about here anyway.
I am annoyed as originally I was told we could get 3 goes on nhs then when we decide to go with a donor that all changed....
Its a case of one rule for one, and one rule for another.

Hello,
Well, I have to take my name off of the May list. I got word today from my doc that I won't be having the polyp removal until April 22, which pushes my EC and transfer back to early June :(

Best of luck to you all. I'll still be watching you closely.
God Bless,
Randa

:( I'm so disappointed for you

:) Good Luck for June - I know it's not much consolation but we'll all still be here to give virtual hugs when needed :!:
