New Girl: IVF & Transplant Recipients

Post by Kaylee »

Hi, I just found this site today and thank goodness I did. Feel am going insane - am so emotional. Have been trying to conceive for nearly 3.5 yrs, had laparoscopy last week with the devastating news that we won't have a baby naturally.

Since then have been ploughing the web for IVF info. Research feels like my only available elastoplast at the moment! Am hoping to find someone who has gone through IVF that has also had a transplant (and is / was taking immuno-suppresent medication). Am desperate for good news stories - and this site seems to have plenty. I have a wonderful friend who always reminds me to 'travel hopefully' and some of the stories and supportive responses I've read on this site have helped today be a bit more hopeful than yesterday.

And why, does anyone know or understand why I feel compelled to sit and watch baby programmes on TV - I'm addicted - I keep hoping one day it will be me!

Thanks for the welcome!! Its lovely to get a response!

I don't really mind if no-one has any specific experience of IVF and Transplants - though any information which comes my way can only help - I'm just really grateful to finally find somewhere honest, open and supportive where I can feel understood!

Hi Kaylee. Welcome :D - I have only been here for a short while, but already have found it to be a huge help :!:

I have to say that I have found myself watching the baby programmes as well :!: It's almost like personal torture :!:

Any questions or fears you have be sure to ask, because there will always be someone here who can help with advice and reassurance. I have found some really great people to talk to already so just ask :!:

Hi Big J - how's it going, where are you at now?

Hello Kaylee,
Welcome to the site. I have found it invaluable for advice and support, through good times and bad.

Feel free to ask any questions you want. I'm sure you'll get lots of responses.

I'm not sure what you mean about Transplants but many people on here have experience of IVF. I've had two attempts - just got my second negative result today :( .

Hope you find the site helpful.

Love
Debbie

Hi Debbie,

So sorry to hear about your 2nd -ve - you must be feeling awful. Sending lots of warm thoughts your way - try to be kind to yourself over the next few days and weeks. Fingers x'd for you if you decide to go again!

I ask about the transplant because I had a heart tp 9 years ago. My specialist is 'ok in principle' with IVF but there isn't much info easily available about how IVF and tp medication work together!

Much love and kind thoughts on their way to you,

Take Care

Kaylee

Do you know when you are going for your consultation or when you hope to be going through your treatment. There are threads for various months already going where you can link up with people who will be going through the treatment at the same time :?

It might help to have people to talk to especially during the 2ww.

Have you tried doing a search on Transplants to see if there is any information that has been previously placed here :?:

Good Luck with everything

Hi Kaylee,
Welcome to the site. I myself found this site just a month a ago and this site has been so useful and so informative. Having tried so many other website, i am hooked to this site so much that I don't bother to do any more web search for any IVF informations.
I understand your excitment and anxiety as to what is an ivf, how it works etc. I encourage you to read many of the post put up her and many of your answers can get cleared.

Welcome again
