Hi Donna, I thought EC was going to be the same day as me, 4th? Good luck and I hope that once there, they find more follies - it seems to happen quite a lot. Let us know how many and what size.

No rashes with Puregon but I did accidently stab my finger with the needle by not looking when I was dismantling the pen today, it hurts far more than my stomach. Talking of which...our new house has mirrors -which are a novelty - so I keep peering at my lower abdomen for signs of bloating/swelling. Anyone remember when you can start to see the ovaries? I thought it was by this stage ((I'm on Day.7)?

BigJ, the Greek restaurant + friends sounds very nice. I'm not having my birthday on Easter Sunday again, it was a wash. EVERYTHING is closed and EVERYONE away...my plans to decamp to the only cafe open in town were squashed by my MIL who had made me a cake and asked us to go there instead.....still, the weather was gorgeous and very sunny. The snow is melting very quickly, I've 'only' got 3-4 feet of it in the garden.

Julie...no more big names please!!

Good luck ladies...we're almost all in the throws of it now.

Debra.

I can't believe that I start Buserelin injections tomorrow morning - the time has flown in. I am feeling pretty squiffy right now to be perfectly honest. Really nervous about doing the injections and about how I am going to feel. Reading all of your posts has been really helpful.

Hoping to inject myself but will make sure I start the process before DH leaves for work incase he needs to do the deed.

I hate feeling out of control and that's how I feel right now. I have this image in my head that as the menopause is induced I will actually age physically as well :!:  I know this sounds ridiculous and of course I realise that I won't suddenly look like my mum over the next 2 weeks but I think I'm just freaking out a bit and needing to get a grip :!:

You all sound so brave; Julie and Traci and the rest of you downregging, stimming and waiting. I just hope that once I get started I'll just take each day at a time and calm down into the whole thing.

I'm sorry to go on and I'm sure I sound a bit pathetic. Here's hoping that in my next post I'm saying that it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Thanks for listening.

Positive Vibes to you all.

Hi Maci - Just take one day at a time...I am sniffing for downregging but injecting for stims. It is not bad at all - less then a pinch. It is only the idea that really gets me nervous. DH is out of town (we are in between moving to Vienna) - so I am left to do the deed myself. I am getting nervous for the HCG shot in the buttocks which I will probably have to do myself (even if Dh is home he is terrified of needles)...but this one is a couple of days away now I am focusing on making sure follicles are growing!

Let us know how you are doing starting with the downregging.

Hi All

Consultation on 24 went well. Going through blood tests on Wednesday to determine my levels of Natural Killer Cells - Auto Immune Screening :!:

It looks as though I will be a May Girl at the earliest, but unfortunately I think I might be being a little optimistic - still no harm in wishful thinking :D

How is everyone - I have tried to catch up with everyone's posts, but loads of PMA to you all and hope you are doing well :!:

Hi everyone! I’m flying high: had the EC today (I called it ER and confused everyone since my doctor refers to the procedure as “egg retrieval.” Or maybe I picked it up from Julie, who knows  ). Anyways, they harvested 11 eggs! I’m sure some are too small, although the doc didn’t tell me their sizes. However, he seemed quite pleased with the harvest. The critical issue now is how many embryos we’ll get. Tomorrow they’ll call to give me the news. Since we’re only aiming to implant 3 embryos and won’t freeze any, the prognosis is good. Anyways, Debra, I was on the roll-call for an ET (transplant) on the 5th, not EC. As it is, things have proceeded more quickly than planned and now ET will be on the 2nd. Thanks everyone for your support and your positive vibes!

Happy birthday to BigJ and Debra! Yes, it’s amazing how much time is of the essence when you’re 40-something. I guess I was in denial about this, since I was genuinely shocked to discover I have a high FSH. I think, BigJ, you’ll be happy with donor embryos—we might go that route (it’s between that or adoption) if the IVF doesn’t work. It’s a wonderful thought to go through pregnancy with your child.

Julie—your rash sounds horrible. Call your doctor for peace of mind if nothing else!

Maci—good luck getting started. I found the injections to be totally painless, so don’t worry about them. I can’t speak about the effects of downregging, but the stims are actually youthening (real word?!) since you are filled with excitement, especially your first time around. My husband kept complimenting me, the sweetie.

Traci—good luck with the HCG trigger. I might have to teach myself to do an intramuscular injection since I’ll be injecting progesterone every day and need to fly to a conference without my husband. I’m actually terrified of doing it, but my doc says many women do it to themselves.

Sorry for babbling! Good luck, everyone.

Donna! 11 EGGS is WONDERFUL!

Take good care of yourself between now and the BIG egg transfer day (April 2)!
Isn't it exciting to think of 3 embryos being implanted?!
That's how many I will be doing (Lord willing). It just blows me away :D
Keep us posted on how things progress and how you feel.

God Bless!

Donna - Congratulations on 11 eggs!! I am sure you are totally over the moon

Will be sending positive baby vibes your way for the ET!

Doing the shots yourself is not bad at all. I wish DH would be here and be able to do them to be more part of the process - but some things I can not push him into doing if he is not comfortable. He is totally amazed out how mellow the meds are making me :D

Traci - thank you for your kind words. Come on wee follicles, keep growing. Good luck with your HCG.

Donna - again..thank you for your words of encouragement. You were absolutely right; I've just given myself my first Buserelin injection and it was fine. All that fuss for nothing - sorry  Fantastic news about your easter harvest. All the very best and +++++ vibes for the 2nd.

LittleP - good news about your consult. Hope tomorrows tests lead to a firm plan of action.

I really appreciate all your comments, thanks for taking the time.

Bye for now

Hi girls,
How is everyone? Hope you all had a good Easter, mine was spent working. Worked Good Friday, done a 12 hour shift on Saturday (it was stocktaking night) and worked all day Easter Sunday, had Monday and today off and done absolutely nothing, been so tired. I know i said a while back i had put my foot down and told work i was doing no more extra hours while going through treatment, but me being a soft touch has gave in and i'm working all day tomorrow and doing an extra day next week aswell, on the Monday, the day before my next appointment. I told the boss though that after the Monday there will be no more as i'll probably be called to the hospital every other day.
I think my symptoms are starting to pass now, not had any hot flushes all day. My AF was due yesterday but still no show, having real bad cramps though, feels like my insides are being stabbed.

Donna - good going on getting 11 eggs, good luck on the 2nd.

Little P - glad your appointment went well but sorry to hear you won't be with us March/Aprils girls for your treatment.

Maci - hope your injecting went well today, it all seems so real when you start.

Jules - how's the rash? I hope it's getting better. How was the Anastacia concert? She has such a brilliant voice. I've seen Wet Wet Wet about 6 or 7 times in the past, the last time was about 9 years ago, they were absolutely brilliant live. I just love Stereophonics latest song Dakota, i play it on repeat quite often, hope you enjoy all the concerts.

Oh no, i've missed the start of Eastenders, have to go, so a quick HI to everyone i've missed.
Take care and talk to you all soon.
Lotsa love

Michelle

Hi All

Donna 11 eggs well done that is great fingers crossed for saturday.

Sandra - yes I was scratching my hand - tried not to today - and it seems better (no one at work noticed it so it can't be that bad!!) Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. I think I panicked a bit because it was soo visable and I didn't know what I was going to say to people at work :!: :!: I will ring the hospital if it gets worse - didn't get the chance today.

Little P - glad your appointment went well - I am sure a few of us will be drifting into May, if all goes to plan for me I will do the end of the dreaded 2ww in May (fingers crossed etc etc)

Maci - I hope injecting went ok for you - it is a scary thing to embark on it does not sound riduculous - I still don't like it, but you can do it - the thought is much worse and remember we are all here no thought is a stupid one we all have them so they can't be!!

Michelle - Hi look after yourself you. Anastacia was brilliant (sorry Debra don't mean to rub it in  ) I have seen the wets once before in december last year in manchester they were great I think Marti is lovely. My DH is scottish but he doesn't have lovely acent like his and I always say - why don't you talk like him :!: :!:

Tracii - good luck hope you folicles have grown nicely.

Well very teird been a good girl and been in the gym today, after all the chocolate I have had the last few days not sure it will have help much!!

Af is due tomorrow - and I think by the size of my bloated stomach it will be here very soon - the last one for 9 months :!: :!:

Take Care everyone
Love

new to the board

Post by hopefullyexpecting »

Hi! I'm new to the board. I am on the fifth day of my 2ww. My test date is April 5th. This is my 3rd IVF transfer. My second was a FET and it took. I'm hoping for another child as this is my last try. I'd like to lend my support to those also going through the meds, shots, and wait. Good luck!

By the way, does anyone know what the base line number should be for the BETA test? Also, is anyone taking their basal temperature in the morning to try to determine if they are pregnant? I did it the second time and it worked -- the temperature stayed pretty high, so I was cautiously optimistic. This time, with my son waking up near dawn, it's throwing everything off.

One more thing, it's great to talk to women across the Atlantic with the same situation as me. I'm from Los Angeles.

Take care, Liz

Well, Liz (that's shorter !), I'm following you around the board ! I've just posted to you against your first post on the test date thread.

I'm afraid I don't know about beta numbers, or temps. Someone will though, I'm sure.
