Feeling a bit 'blagh' so excuse my not writing much. I've got my scan at 0900 tomorrow and don't have any sense of lots of follicles in there at all. I'm sure I've felt more bloated in the past. Sandra. re. can you see the ovaries...during my first stimming in 2002, I could definitely see swollen bumps on either side of my abdomen (which isn't super small so a bit of a miracle?). Not seen anything since though....

Donna. Sending positive thoughts for your egg on Friday. Let's hope you get good news. When would they do ET? on Friday or Saturday?

Little P - good luck with your apt. Anyone else noticed that in less than 3 weeks you've clocked up a HUGE number of posts? The support and friendship on this board is just wonderful.

I don't have any pets to chat to but did look after 2 goldfish over Easter for a friend of MIL. They laid 100s of eggs during their stay which freaked everyone out...I took it as a good sign and a positive omen!

Heather...the needles are very small with Puregon, it really is very very easy to use. Gotta love that! Eskavon, you'll breathe a HUGE sigh of relief after your first shot, they're a cinch.

Welcome Liz. We LOVE happy stories on here!

Traci, good luck with the Puregon, you're just behind me but will catch up next week. Did I read you're on 150IE? I'm on 300IE a day which costs a bloody fortune...serves me right for being so old I guess :) Do you get any help from the military? or German authorities or is is all private? Can I ask how much does Puregon cost over there? actually, I'd love to hear how much it is everywhere. It's GBP120/225 US a phial here but we will get some of that back after the treatment. The state partially reimburses private IVF as they limit state support to women of 38 or under.

How's everyone else doing?
Hugs
Debra.

Joy (what does the 'stormy' mean?)

have a look at the roll call thread and in amongst all the chat ( ) are people's current state of play. You should find others about to embark on tmt in April in there too.

good luck
Debra.

Actually, Debra, I was thinking the same earlier .... about Little P that is ... I think Becky needs to watch out :) !!

Oh, I do hope your scan brings you better news than you're expecting. Hopefully, you've only got 3 more stimming days, so the end is in sight. Have the side effects from downreg settled down ? Have you managed to catch up with any kip ?

Lots of +ve thoughts for tomorrow

Debra,
I agree that the fish laying a bunch of eggs while you were caring for it is a sign. I don't remember being able to see my ovaries buldge right before harvest and I have a fairly flat stomach and they got 9 eggs (12 folicals). I felt a little swollen overall in my abdomen, but that's about it. Not much change really.
I hope that helps.
Thinking of you and fingers crossed for a great harvest!

Hi All

I am not sure how much puregon costs here. I paid about $2700 Australian for my entire treatment....this includes all the drugs but does not include any costs associated with both hospital stays. Here we have a NHS which we pay for through our taxes and we also pay for private medical to cover costs of private hospitals, dental, etc. My hospital is affiliated with my private health fund so it is all free, except for the anaesthetist which will cost me about $500. My doctor, although attached to Monash IVF, is not located in the clinic and also charges separately for his services. NHS provides a rebate of about 85% on his charges and because he is also affiliated with my private health fund, any services performed in hospital are free.

My sister is currently living in Connecticut in the US as her husband is posted there through the Australian Government. She went through 3 IVF treatment cycles last year and was lucky enough to have the Aussie Govt pick up the bill! I am pleased to say that her treatment produced a beautiful baby girl who hopefully, will be returning home permanently later in the year.

Wishing you all the same success with your treatments!

Cheers
Heather

Hi All
Good luck Donna. :)
AF just arrived tonight but little confused, do I count this as day 1 or tomorrow. Whichever i guess it means iui will be on 13th/14th April. Can't believe I'm looking forward to starting injections! Not building my hopes up too much, I know there are not good odds but you never know, it's got to work for someone so why not us.
Positive vibes to everyone xxxxxxxxxx

Leigh,
You may want to check w/ your doc to be sure, but I was told to count that day - even if it didn't start until the evening.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Leigh

I have always counted day 1 as the first day of AF and this has then corresponded with my records at the hospital.

My meds in total (includes Synarela, 600ie Purogen, Progesterone suppositories and folic acid) was 1,900€. I am on private insurance in Germany - and they will pick up the IVF costs but require lots and lots of documentation (typical german). It will take me a while to pull together all the docs....but I thought I would deal with it after the cycle and not get stressed now (I am a Type A - and worry about everything).

The actual EC and ET (including ICSI) is about 3.000-4.000€....which again insurance should pick up. Plus extra for the Crypto but insurance will definitely not pick this cost up.

Is anyone else having ICSI???? DH has low mobility (not bad but not great either) and the DR suggested we go with ICSI and cut down more risks. I was curious if anyone else is doing the same.

The last couple of days have been a little low for me too...must be the weather and waiting for Friday to arrive. Luckily work for me is not stressful and am actually leaving end of April

April will be a very good month for us all! :D :D :D

Hi, Just back from the scan and 'not bad' is as far as I'll go. I told myself to expect c.5 so wasn't too surprised when they found 5 at a fair size (12-18mm) and 2 smaller. I've another 2 days of Puregon so who knows? Ovitrelle on Monday night and then EC on Tuesday 5th at 0800.

All systems go!

Traci, I'll have to convert the Euros into kroner a bit later to get a sense of the costs, like you, we'll have lots of reciepts to keep but strangely enough there's no application form for reimbursement 'yet'. The rules were changed in 2002 and people still just hand over a bunch of recipts, a letter from the clinic + answer a ton of questions. It took 3 months for our last reimbursement so I'm not holding my breath!

Leigh, Day 1 for me is always the day it arrives, even if late at night.

Heather, congrats on your neice. It must be great to share your experience with your sister as for once, you'll have family who DO understand.

hugs to everyone and here's hoping for a great April....
Debra.
