Hi Girls - 5 follies isn't bad at all - I just had other expectations - and you know how we all are when expectations are not met  (ask my DH).

I had my big cry with my mother-in-law - (a ver proper English woman). Actually broke down to her and told her what we were going through (she didn't know we are even trying to get preggers) - so to be honest I feel much better all around.

Hi Sandra - O = ovulation. And thank you I am now focusing on ensuring the 5 I have are healthy fighters - like their mother!

Hi Donna - I know your embie is a fighter as well - and no news is good news. Sunday is another scan and blood test - I am going to get lots of fresh air this weekend and get my mind somewhere else.

Sending lots of sunshine your way 8) 8) 8)

Deb and Tracii - PMA PMA I had one follicle in my first attempt - so 5 is really GOOD and Randar's news about getting 12 eggs is also really uplifting 8) 8) 8) 8) (and at her age too    )

Tracii are you German??? my dh is from Koeln
I think a good cry is therapeutic, part of the stress is trying to pretend everything is normal - well what is normal??? Being human is normal so have a good wail if you need one WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (I had one last night - no difference between my red eyes and dh hay fever eyes  )

Donna - hope your little embie is having a good weekend...will think of you

love to you all this weekend bigJ

Hi Lisa .. You're moving along nicely now ... I know just what you mean about not getting your hopes up too high. You somehow need to find a nice balance between reality and +ve thinking. Not easy.

Well, bad news: my lone embi stopped dividing after the 4-cell stage. So no ET tomorrow. The doctor, in fact, sounded pretty guarded about the possibility of my ever getting pregnant with my own eggs. So now we're going to start looking into an egg donor. Anyways, I'm off to be sad, but hopefully not for too long. I think a donor egg might be a nice way to go.

Good luck to the rest,
Donna

Donna,
So sad to hear your embie didn't make it.
You sound like you are embracing new options already, though. You are very strong.
Geeze, I'm really sorry this one didn't happen for you.
My heart goes out to you.

Clarification. BigJ, I didn't have 12 eggs, I had 12 follicles that resulted in 9 eggs, then resulted in 5 embies. Just didn't want to confuse anyone or exaggerate my results. Still, it was a big change in only 48 hours from the 7+2 follies we thought we were working with.

Donna

It's all so unfair. You must be absolutely crushed and I'm amazed at how strong and positive you sound.

Give yourself some time to get your body back to normal, and don't make any rash decisions.

We're all here whenever you need us ..

Debra ... How are you feeling, this grey, dull Saturday morning ? Do you have another scan tomorrow, or is Tues EC a set definite ?

Donna. Sorry to hear solo didn't make it. Whilst the news wasn't good, your Dr. being upfront so early (do you have a follow-up apt?) at least means they're prepared to front the truth. Nothing worse than being left hanging around not knowing what is going on. From what I've seen on the boards, there's a long wait for eggs in the UK but less so with other clinics. See BigJ's early posts on this. Take good care of yourself and your strength does you justice. I hope you get your sleep back on track.

Traci...I'm glad you told MIL if she was supportive in turn. Mine's a rock on most things but totally and utterly crap with anything emotional. She shut herself down 20 years ago when her marriage hit the dust, she's a strong woman but seemingly heartless at times. I envy your better luck. I'm feeling OK, I'm now super conscious of my ovaries, I can really feel them so am hoping (as per Randa's message) that there's a late spurt, I may have over-Puregoned yesterday by 25-50IE as I was using up 3 old phials...I'm feeling calmish about this! Last full dose today.

Sandra...I'm fine thanks. No scans/apts. before EC on Tuesday. My clinic are SUPER laid back...nothing seems to faze them, they just meander along at their gentle Norwegian pace and get great results. They ignore my garbled, incomprehensible nonsense Qs and let DF quietly explain whatever it is I want to know. They do tend to only answer Qs vs. offer info up but I've trusted them for 2.5 yrs now, this is our final fresh cycle so I'll leave it up to them. Not long for you know.....you start your meds as I finish mine!

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Donna, special hugs to you.
Debra.

Oh Donna, I am so sorry, can only send you my love and a big hug. I have been down the road of deciding donor eggs are the way forward and for me it was a long road. I am more than happy to support you on that and try and answer questions etc. Scientifically it is a solution, but emotionally it's a very tough decision to take. All I can say is now we have decided I feel a certain sense of calm and control relative to before.

Randa - sorry to confuse things  , just meant you had done well and got a bit too excited - it's amazing though how the follicles:eggs:embryo ratio works out - most people aren't aware of this and the pain that is gone through as it happens.

D - good job for your clinic - they jst need steady hands for Tuesday and it sounds like you've done your bit 8) keeping cool is everything isn't it? dh sounds like a dude too.. 8) I used to work for a Swedish company. also with factories in Norway, well cool peeps, very together very calm...

Tracii - I am glad your MIL came through for you

welcome Christine and way to go Sand - on the starting blocks!

love bigJ
