Hi EmmaLouise,

I don't know of clinics in your area, however I would be surprised if there are any that are offering this. Clinics usually argue that the chances of success are so many times worse if you do the cycle with only one or two eggs, that they don't recommend to even try.

Why are you considering this?
Me 33, he 37
Blocked tubes
First IVF, miscarriage
Second IVF, miscarriage

i have read other post of Natural Cycle...
it is your treatment and you should be able to have choices, but i would think about what your center is saying and do some reseacrh on it.

Natural Cycle IVF

Post by Vickyp »

Hi Emmalouise

I have had 3 attempts at NC IVF (unfortunately none of my eggs fertilised - so have not yet had an embryo put back).
I am at Hammersmith Hospital so nowhere near you I'm afraid but I just thought I'd let you know that it is possible to get this treatment.
I was told that the success rates were very low by comparason to standard IVF but at that time (last year) there was no other option for me as I did not want highly increased levels of oestrogen. They were however happy to do it as long as I understood the hurdles. I don't think any hospital would necessarily advertise NC IVF on their list of treatments but it is probably worth calling clinics to discuss why you want to do it to see if they will. I am now trying something completely different at Hammersmith - please do just ask if you want to know anything more about what the proceedure was - I will be happy to let you know - didn't want to bore you at this stage! Hi Sandra

Thank you for that! Never done this before - although I've spent a lot of time reading various sites!
Maybe I'll try being more communicative from now on! Vicky

Hello LittleP

Thank you for saying hello. I'm just about to start a new cylce tomorrow - IVF/ICSI this time using FSH & Letrozole - this is quite an experimental thing so if I have any fertilised eggs, they have to be frozen as they are not sure of the effect of Letrozole on the embryo. So although the eggs should be collected in two wks ish, if there are any they won't be put back for 2-3mths. Feeling rather gloomy today - not slept too well recently & have to leave at 5am tomorrow morning - still I always like it when I get there. Anyway - sorry - moan moan moan. I'll be more chirpy next time I promise.
What stage are you at?
and also you Sandra (how strange - is it okay to talk to two people at the same time?) Did I see somewhere Sandra that you are having a FET soon?
Anyway hope your feeling okay with stuff. Love Vicky

As they say tiny steps .... hope everything goes well for you. I know it's frustrating having to wait but as long as you get the bundle of joy at the end the waiting will be worth it :D

Here's a cyber hug to try and cheer you up and tons of PMA to get you through the next few days.

We're here when you need to talk.

Hi Vicky ... Of course it's okay - you can talk to as many folk as you like within one post ..

Yes, I've just started downregging for an FET yesterday... I'm hoping ET will be around 29 April ...

I do hope you're feeling a little more +ve tomorrow. A good night's sleep will help.

I can imagine it being frustrating knowing you're going through EC, without the chance of ET straight away .. However, I suppose that whatever tests they'll do / signs they're looking for, are important if a new drug's being trialed.. Hope you're apptmt tomorrow goes well !!
