FSH Levels

Post by melanie02 »

Hello to all the girls, i have been reading all your messages now for quite a few months and i must just say what an inspiration you have been. There is always someone to give advice and a great deal of support i'm glad this site is here for us all. Well my story so far: reversal of sterilisation Dec 2002 sucessfull pregnancy in june but unfortunatley was ectopic, had left tube removed at 5 weeks pg so am now going for ivf. Had appointment with gynae 25th oct and had a scan everything fine dp had a semen test all great no problems, the only thing is my fsh levels were high (17) so i have to do another blood test on day 2 of next cycle. Has anyone any advice on these levels as consultant said they do go up and down,i know my age is a factor as 39 saturday just gone (Boo Hoo) would love to hear from anyone and am sending love and best wishes to everyone.
LOL melanie:)

FSH Levels

Post by Debs »

Hello Melanie

I hope this helps I had my FSH levels checked last year and they were 7.4 and the Doc said that they were really good he also explained that somtimes they could even be high or low and that the result gives them an idea about what stength the drugs need to be to stimulate our overys so i would'nt worry to much.
I also had anouther FSH blood test done last week as the FSH levels I had done last year are now void cause they were done a year ago my hubby will be getting his sperm test done on the 13th of november and then we have to go back on the 4th of December to set a date to start IVF which will be around the end of december or beginning of january. I am 26 years old and I too had an ectopic I found out when I was 10 weeks pregnant so they did an OP and removed my left tube and they also found that i was born without my right tube and overy so now i just have my left overy, how about you, you say you had your left tube removed is there anything wrong with your right tube and overys. anyway best of luck Debbie xxx

Hello Debs, thankyou for replying to my message and am sorry for your loss of pg and left tube. Knowing that you are pregnant and then to find thats it's in the tube is just heartbreaking. I still have my right tube but dont really know if it's ok or not. When i had reversal my consultant said my left tube was the better one and it was the left side that i fell on,hence now trying IVF.I'm just praying my levels go down so i can start treatment its such a waiting game but you just have to focus on the end result.Hope to talk to you again soon take care love melanie xxx
