Hi Jude, when is your test date and I'll add you to the April testers.....it sounds like everything went well, I'm very pleased for you and DH.

My stats are a bit like yours right now. 5 of the 8 fertilised, 1 too much so leaving 4 to be watched overnight before ET tomorrow am. It's too early to say if they're all freezing quality so we'll just have to keep everything crossed until we arrive and hear how things are.

Caroline....as yet there's no 'pg over 40' thread but as there's now 3 of you, when you're ready you might want to start your own thread over on the pg after tmt forum. Many wait on this side until their scans though. Jude and I will join you ASAP!

Alette, I totally understand wanting to wait a bit longer. BTDT (been there, done that) and it's scary! Not long until the 12th though. Will DH be able to be there too? I have a twins feeling about you.....

Randa...I'll have to be the 4th as Jude will get there before me ( :D ).

hugs

Thanks BigJ (I am not sure I should be posting here....I am not quite 40, but feel about 72 tonight!). I love my sister to death and do trust that she would be supportive. I guess it is more about protecting myself. We figure if we don't tell anyone about the treatment we only have our own disappointment and grief to deal with. Having to explain the ifs and buts to a bunch of people would be emotionally draining. I am fortunate that my DH is a wonderful guy and provides me with all the love and support that I need.....all you wonderful folk on here fill in the gaps and let me talk about the icky bits that I am sure he doesn't want to hear as well as provide me with a tonne of information for which I will be forever grateful. I am pleased that your sister is being so supportive and I am glad that you could finally tell her how you are feeling. You go girl!

I am so glad that your passport arrived and you are all set for Barcelona! LittleP's PMA is obviously quite potent! You guys crack me up! .

Take care and enjoy your sunshine. You live in a beautiful part of the world and I am incredibly envious....the piccies look fabulous.

Thanks again

Hey Alette .. Good to hear from you. I can understand why you're cautious. Waiting to hear your good news on 12th ..

Jude .. Sounds like you've had a very successful trip ... Lots and lots of PMA for your test next week.

Debra, Debra ....4 fertilising as we speak is excellent news. Hopefully, you're feeling a little more relaxed with the world, hearing that ? What time is ET ?

Hi Sandra, yes I'm a little more relaxed. I had a better night's sleep but still got up about 5 times to pee - tmi? I always try to make up for my lack of daytime fluid intake in the evening and subsequently wake up all night....you'd think I'd learn wouldn't you?

ET is at 10.00 (CET, so GMT+1). Only takes a minute so maybe off to Ikea afterwards??? just to browse of course....then an afternoon of NOTHING...our new sofa will arrive 'sometime between 3-10pm' apparently so I'll be testing that out asap. MIL is collecting the monkey from kindergarten and helping me bathe her for the first evening as that involves lots of hoiking around. Next week DF is on a different shift so will be around to help whilst I'm back at work.

Must go to bed!

Will write when I'm back from the clinic tomorrow. Good luck ladies with your jabs/shots, apts, scans...it's all happening now!

hugs
Debra.

I've posted my update elsewhere but am feeling SO happy and SO positive and SO proud (getting the picture???).

ET went well and the visit started with the great news that another 2 of our original 8 eggs fertilised yesterday, meaning 7 of the 8 made it  One was 'over-ripe' as Traci so neatly put it recently leaving us 6. I had 3 put back (2 x 4 cells + 1 x 2 cells), leaving 3 x 4 cells to be frozen. We were thrilled and grinned like idiots throughout.

Am feeling good but wishing I could take a little more time off next week. I'll have a half work week spread over 4 days but with an apt. with my accountant on the 5th - hardly a break!

We were all chatting afterwards (which means me catching about 10% and nodding like a lemon for the rest) and asked could we donate our frosties assuming we are lucky this time. They said egg donation was not allowed in Norway (like Germany BigJ) so people go to Denmark but there are long waiting lists for donor eggs so Finland is now becoming popular. I mentioned Barcelona and they revealed a new patient was treated in Barcelona recently, she had 5 embies put back and one survived. Not bad for a 51 year old......they are now handling her pregnancy. Jude.....you're a young'un in comparison!

Hoping everyone is feeling positive, esp. as spring is here/round the corner.

Debra.

I too have posted elsewhere (twice I think !) .... just to say that it's good to see you soooo positive. Make the most of the time you do have off from work. I think these first few days have got to be the most crucial, so rest up and get df faffing around you.

Hi Debra

Like Sandra I've posted elsewhere, but this is something to be positive about and well worth posting again :D

You do sound nice and upbeat about things at the moment which is fantastic so keep hold of all of that positive energy and hopefully you will breeze through the 2ww :!:

These first few days are the most important for implantation so don't do anything, just relax on your lovely new sofa and let yourself be waited on :!: :D

Fingers crossed and loads of PMA

Hi girls!!!

wow! I am so sorry the last couple of days I seem to get way laid and have missed so much - sorry

Jude sweetie was so worried about you :? - thought you had decided to go to ground for 2ww- I was thinking of you in Barcelona 19 degrees and baby making warm or what    OOOOh George Clooney, I am sure I'll go all sloppy when I meet him. We fly out next Wed appt Thursday 11am CET PMA+++++++ and then back Friday, can't believe it's finally happening   I'll just be thinking of your embies bedding in right now and getting lots of lovely blood supply, the womb wizard is on the case with you, what an endo babe you are    btw did you read the stuff about taking viagra to help blood supply??? or are you taking baby Asprin??? when do you test sweetie (sorry if I missed the info  )

Randa - sister thing is a "thing" isn't it, but there is so much love there you just have to pile thru the "my parents f%%%%d me up" bit and start to be like friends, ok so after 3 days now I am an expert  Thx so much for the transfer info - now I understand it better, sounds like IM transfer 2 don't know what the transfer protocol is :?: Sorry about your foot poor baby, RU OK now????

D - wot a lot of embies and frosties and wow!!!! - we are gooooood 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) you'll be there with Jude - 3 transfered - get the super glue out and make sure that work stays in its place OK  the over 40 womb wizard is going to be a busy little bunny or what??? test date???

so proud of you girls Alette, Joy and CarolineP - so wonderful to have you pg over 40s here     The cautiousness reassures me, it's so good to hear how you are, and I don't have the courage to check out the pg threads so you are welcome 8) 8)

Aaaah LittleP our time will come.......

Sorry if I forgot someone, I think an over 40 pg thread is a GREAT idea, we'll all be joining it soon PMA++++

General comment of frustration: why the hell is it illegal in these stupid countries to do DE :?: :?:  (check out the ivi website to see just how many, think it's DE, Aus, CH, and now Norway and Sweden I mean what's the problem?????cos I can't explain it if DSperm is OK and IVF is OK what's the b****y difference??????????@?

Love to all of us mature mums to be XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

BigJ,
Sometimes I have to take a nap after reading your posts :P
You have enough energy and emotions for TWO people!!
And I think we are a lucky bunch to get so much of your big heart.
Keep being you! :D
Love.

oh yes Randa I echo your sentiment - BigJ you have a HUGE heart and a HUGE amount of energy. And I loved your comment about 'after years of talking in brackets' I do too!

Thanks to all of you, if we all share the positives when we get them it makes the knockbacks easier to deal with.

BigJ - my test date is Wed 20 but the result will be 21st. V-e-r-y slow here as my clinic send the bloods off to the local hosp.

hugs

Hello All,
I've just spend AGES catching up with all of your posts since I last had time to look at the board!!!!! It's lovely to read so much positive stuff happening. Congrats to all who have had positive results and to those of you who are on the 2ww have plenty of rest and think positive thoughts.
I'm going to be pretty busy over the next few weeks - work is hectic and I've really got to begin to get organised for our move in May so I won't get too much time for keeping up with you all, but I'll do what I can.
Our follow up appointment from our last failed IVF is in a couple of weeks so we'll know more about our next move after that. My guess is it will be another round of IVF (hopefully asap) but this will be our last.

Take care all and don't forget to have fun :D

Love
Debbie
