new to this site

Post by amy0217 »

HI, just joined the site, and have learned that there are many, many women facing the same things that I am. I have been married for 8 1/2 years, and we have tried to conceive for about 5 years. Finally, after many failed months of clomid and injectable meds, we are moving on to IVF. I am on day 21 of my prep month, and should start Lupron Saturday. Hopefully, things will go well and we can conceive the first time!!!
Any suggestions and comments are welcome. Amy

Hi Amy, welcome to the site. I am a newbie here but have found everyone so supportive and informative. There are some very wise women on here!

I am currently on day 6 of stimming and hoping for EC on Friday 15th. I hope that we are both luck with our first attempt. Good luck with your treatment.

Take a look around the general forum, this seems to be where most of the action happens!

Cheers

Hi Amy and welcome. My first tmt cycle was successful so take heart, it can happen!

Have a look at the April + May buddy threads over in the General Forum, plus the roll call thread, I think you'll find quite a few newbies also starting their tmts soon.

Hi there,
My name is Isabel. I am 38 and just completed a cycle afte trying for 14 months with no go , go , no go etc. Finally finished with DE and let them grow to DAY 5 and transfered on the 3rd. I am set to go in the MD's on the 15 Friday to test. ALthough I plan on cheating Monday with a HOME PG test. Hubby and I are beside our selves. We have no children and this is our last hope.
This site is amazing and I love how everyone is so supportive. Unless you have been in these shoes nobody can comprehend the emotional aspect of it all!
I hope to make some friends and well as offer support.

I am from the United States. From California. Thank you for your support and prayers. I will let everyone know the outcome of my pretest on Monday! Has anyone done this before and tested at home prior to the MD blood test?

Hi Isabel .. Warm welcomes to the site ! You will definitely make those friends you speak of ...

We all know how difficult the 2ww but, speaking from the experience of others, I would strongly advise you not to test early with a hpt. They can easily give false results. It could show +ve if a particular medication is still in your system from the cycle, or it could show -ve if it's too early / the reading's too weak for the hpt. Either way, you'll still be left wondering. These hpts have caused no end of misery for some.

So, all in all I urge you to try to hang in there an extra 4 days and just do the bloods on Friday ..

Hi Isabel and welcome

I have to agree with Sandra, try really hard to resist the temptation of an early test because it could be too early to test and give a misleading result.
