Haven't you got another blood test today? What time? How are you feeling? I know lots of questions? Haven't heard much from Jules!

Lots of Love
Charmaine
x
Hi Charmaine,

Feeling very nervous. Had blood (reluctantly) taken this morning before work - from left index finger knuckle - hurts like mad now!

Hubs is meeting me at work at about 1:15, and we could get the results anytime after that. He's bought me a little 'Hope Angel' silver token(?) about coin size with strict instructions to keep stroking it.

Had a few what might have been af feelings for about 30 mins again this morning, but they've gone off again and no sign of more blood (Queen of the Knicker Checkers at mo) - could just be nerves, plus heartburn keeps coming and going. So many conflicting feelings and happenings (with all the bleeding) are doing my head in.

I'll be in touch later.

Love Fiona xxx

Hi Fiona

Just got back from a wonderfully relaxing holiday and am absolutely delighted to read of your positive result. I can understand your anxieties though and am keeping everything crossed for you, and hope that the results of the latest blood test will give you the reassurance that you need.

It's wonderful to hear of so many success stories lately, congratulations to everyone, it's news like this that keeps all of us serial IVF'ers going!

I truly am thrilled for you, I'll try and check in later to see if you have had your results. I know it's difficult but please try and stay calm.

Thinking of you and your Dh.
Luv Julie x
Julie, age 35. Married 12 years, ttc for 10 years, 2 ectopic pregnancies, lost both tubes so tried IVF. 7 unsuccessful attempts and have reached the end of the road so not sure where I belong !!
Hi Girls,

Still don't know result - for some reason they are re-testing.

Apparently over a certain level they recheck to be sure, but I didn't have to guts to ask if that level was over or under mine on Monday.

Will know in about 30 mins time. Hubs having to wait outside and I've had to come back into work - will have to sneak out later as if going to the loo!!!!

Going mad waiting and the bloody phone keeps ringing (I'm on a help desk so unfortunately can't ignore the damn thing .... boohoo)

Love Fiona xxxx

Ok, 30 mins turned into hour and 30 mins! Woman at lab was on break!!!

Did ask about level over which re-tested this time - 350 apparently. So, working on the basis that hCG reduces by 50% daily (did you say that Charmaine?) then I should only be at ~ 600/2/2 = 150 if not a good result. Oh God - sometimes its just no good being soooo logical!

Again, will post as soon as I know.

Fiona xxx

Fi,

You have totally lost me this time - your HcG was higher than 350 threshold on Monday. - Yes I do believe it works both way doubles every 48 hours and decreases (double) every 48 hours. Good luck - still thinking of you - let me know straight away

All my love
Charmaine
x

Sorry girls, don't understand all the figures so am totally confused but the bottom line is there is still hope.
Am really wishing as hard as i can that this works out for the better.
Big Hugs
Terri
xx
Hi Charmaine and Terri,

Sorry, loosing myself too. Its the logic in me that always wants an answer and if there isn't one, to deduce the answer from the information I have (that's why I call myself an IT geek - I fit into that sad little community tooooo well).

Sometimes it is better to just wait for the result, I know. Only 25 minutes left......

Fiona xxx

[Edited by fiona_lk on 30-Oct-02 15:17]
