Hi girls,
Just an update on how my scan went, sorry i didn't get on yesterday, I had to start work as soon as we got back and i was on the late shift so it was such a long day.
The appointments were running very late, apparently they were about 3 nurses down, i got taken in for my scan about 45mins after my appointment time and it wasn't the news i was hoping for, i wanted an e/c date but my follicles aren't big enough yet so i've to carry on with the Gonal F for a few more days, i've also to start sniffing tomorrow 4 times a day up until i get my HCG shot. I've to go back on Monday for another scan and bloods. So hopefully my wee follies will have a growth spurt over the weekend and i'll be given an e/c date on Monday.
I'm sooooooo dreading my injection tomorrow morning, Michael is away on a course so i'm gonna to have to do it myself, i can't even look at needles so how am i gonna be able to stick one in me???
Had a bad day at work today, i lifted some stock and carried it out the stock room and onto the shop floor, it was pretty heavy and afterwards i was really sore right across my stomach, i told the folk at work that i was doing nothing else for the rest of the day except stand at the till, even that was bad enough, i was so glad when it was finishing time. I've just sat on the couch the last couple of hours and done nothing so feeling a lot better now. Working tomorrow again, not gonna even attempt to lift anything at all, it'll just be too bad if tomorrow's delivery doesn't get done i'm not risking it again..
This message is a lot longer than i planned so i'll just finish up now and leave the personals til tomorrow.

Hi girls. Nice to here the ec went well for those who had it done.

Best of luck and plenty of PMA for the next 2 weeks.

AF finally decided to show itself. I done the calculations earlier today and found that ec will be done on day 23 of my cycle, which means that ET will be very close to the next AF. Slightly concerned now, but they hospital will not start me of the follicle stimilation drug sooner than the 26th because otherwise EC/ET will fall very close to Bank Holiday

I hope every thing will go ok.

Delle & ElleR - well done on the ET! At my clinic I was only allowed to have 1 embryo transfered because of my age (29). They only recommend women over about 38 to have 2 transfered. Its amazing how the rules are so different for different countries.

Since I started my 2ww I have not had bedrest at all. I have watched heaps of tv on the couch though! I have given myself the rule that if I hesitate about a particular activity, then I won't do it. To be honest, before my 2ww I had convinced myself that I would not move for the first few days. When it finally came around, it just did'nt feel like the right thing to do. I think just do whatever feels right for your body. I am glad that I have taken the time off work.

I am on day 4 of 2ww & I am having AF like pains. It feels as if my AF is just around the corner. I usually feel like this about 3 or so days before AF arrives. Has anyone else felt like this before. I know not to read into anything too much. Four years ago I managed to fall pg naturally - without even trying! It ended in m/c at about 9 wks. For the week before I tested, I had bad AF pains & thought I can't be pg as my AF is about to arrive any second! Just goes to show, you never can tell. Very frustrating

I've done it, i injected myself. It was horrible, must have sat there with the needle hovering over my belly for a good 5 minutes before i got the courage to push it in. I really don't want to do that again, it was quite a scary thing to do. I'm so glad Michael is back home tonight so he can do tomorrows. Had my first sniff aswell, wasn't too bad.
Well, i think i'll go back to bed for a couple of hours before i have to get ready for work.

Michelle ... You are SO brave. Well done - I can totally understand your fear. You must be a little strong one to overcome that ... it bodes well for a BFP !!! Don't worry unduly about your follies - anything can have happened by Monday. Good luck !!

Kagome ... thanks goodness AF has arrived at last ...

Miss Molly .. On both my previous cycles I started to AF pains on day 5 of 2ww. They lasted 'til day 7, then disappeared, so don't worry.

Elle - 4 !! Just how will you copy with 4 nappies ? (!!) No, seriously, I don't think you're mad. It's strange how clinics are so diffierent. Mine practically throw you out as soon as ET is over, and you leave via the bathroom !

Katy ... Again .. so different. My hospital doesn't give any post ET advice.

Delly .. I think embies implant around day 4 or 5.

Maci .. I've just started the HRT tablets last Thursday ... u/s on 28th, and I'm hoping for ET around 3 May. We'll see !! I'm sure your doctor wouldn't have prescribed the antibiotics if there was any risk. As others have said, antibiotics are routinely prescribed after EC at many hospitals (mine too). Pls try not to add this to your worries.

Elle, I had 3 put back, as did Jude (who just got her +ve). Good luck on the 2ww.

Michelle. I had exactly the same thing happen with my first cycle. My follicles were't big enough and I had an extra 3-4 days on Puregon. By my next scan, all had grown, I had 9 aspirated, we had 6 fertilise and my daughter was the result of the tmt. Don't give up home.

Maci. Antibiotics aren't dangerous at this stage. In fact if you were in the US you might have been prescribed them as a matter of course. Many clinics do there 'just in case' of infection arising from EC. The odds are slight but someone on here 2m ago in Australia, had a terrible time following her EC and antibiotics would have stopped it from happening. Don't worry.

Miss Molly. I think it too early for an AF. I've never heard of one coming in the first week, 2nd week yes but not now. It could still be your ovaries shrinking and mending. PMA!

Katylark, my clinic are very firm that everything should continue as normal but to avoid strenous exercise or anything too active. I've had +ve results so I trust them. Don't stress about going to the loo! A couple - 3 days is a good idea but personally, longer would drive me insane. You must do what you feel is right for you.

Kagome, glad AF arrived. Your clinic wouldn't suggest ET if they expected AF to arrive on time. The meds change the dates so why not call and ask for them to explain how it's all going to work? just for peace of mind?

I'm feeling quite calm having accepted AF is likely to start today. The feeling is too strong. It's Day. 11 so it would be around now if at all. C'est la vie. Off into the garden for a few house to keep busy.

Hi girls

I'm first time on this pages and I thought I can sign here and share my problem with you. I had my first ICSI, ET on 1st of April. They put back 3 eggs and on my 14th day I did the urine test in the morning was positive, in the evening negative. My doc told me that you can't tell by urine (I've had hyperstimulation after ET) and I should get blood test tomorrow. But how come I can have sometimes positive, sometimes negative result...until tomorrow I'll go totally crazy....
Please advice

DebraP- Initially, the plan was to transfer only 3 but since we had a 4th one that was a 5 cell one, the doc said we might as well transfer it as well to increase our chances. I go back to work on tuesday, still thinking if I should take this week off or not. Did you take off from work? Please take it easy. Will be thinking of you.

michelle- Hoping your follicles progress by Monday. Positive thoughts my dear!

Sand & Kerry - Glad you guys don't think I've gone mad!

Hi all been reading post but not had much to say myself!Been injecting and sniffing I had a massive headache thursday I rang NHS Direct cause I felt sick and was shaking,I feel reluctant to take paracetamol but had to that day.Other than that feel ok.My Zita West book came friday and I wish I had brought it before it is really good thankyou whoever recomended that.I am going around the house with a hot water bottle on my belly(feel like a prize hen cultivating her eggs)

Michele in scotland,how come it is your first injections is that the begining of your stimming(I get really confused with other peoples tmt is )It is bizare though sitting there with a needle in your hand,don't know about you but as a child I was taught not to stick sharp things in me!
I am saying that I don't have any side affects but I just cried when Nell Mcandrew got emotional for finishing marathon Ha Ha what next!

Firstly - welcome to the site. Hopefully you will find it as helpful as I have.

I am not sure why your test was positive in the morning and negative later - unless it has something to do with the HcG injection

Did you use Ovitrelle - this is supposed to stay in your body for quite a while and can give misleading results

I know it is awful having to wait yet another day, but try to get plenty of rest and look after yourself.

hi debra ,im back after a long time, me and dh have decided on another attempt, i start on 26th, ec due on 3rd june, am very apprehensive of the outcome after 2 positives that faded away but i know this time could be different,
