Hi to all, hope everyone is having a nice Sunday?

Anemona, must be hard and confusing not long to wait till you find out, keeping everything crossed for you. Good luck :) :)

Debra, Sorry you arent feeling positive its not over yet try and keep PMA, here is a smile or two to brighten up your day :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) .

Michele, well done for being brave with your injection I remember when I had to do my first one I did the same as you and sat with it hovering over me for ages before I was brave enough to do it and the next day I got DH to do it and he really hurt me????? I hope you have had a nice big growth spurt over the weekend. :) :)

Elle hope all those eggs are doing ok and you are nice and relaxed. :) :)

Missmolly I have been having AF pains as well as incrediable sore boobs I dont know what it means but dont forget you have had an awful lot of stuff done to you and everything inside is probably still tender and swollen, a friend who had IVF told me her tubes etc were still swollen at 16weeks pregnant???? :) :)
I am feeling a bit more 'normal' today went out for lunch with my family and for a few hours didnt worry about anything had good food and a really good laugh.
Still got really sore boobs AF pains and feel really heavy, think it hasnt worked but all we can do is wait.
I hope everybody else is ok much baby dust and PMA to you all.
:) :)

I've been reading everyones posts, and am surprised at all the different comments. My last IVF I had, I knew very little, and I went back to work straight after ET and I even went to the gym in my 2ww as I was told to do everything as normal (looking back, stupid i know!) but i got a positive result and i've got my daugfhter now. In response to some posts I had bad period pains from day 4 after ET until i was about 6 weeks pg so they mean nothing.
A home pregnancy test on the morning of my blood test was negative, but i was still pg!
Anyway, I was thinking hopefully i'll get to the 2ww but knowing more now i'm scared to go back to work during 2ww, but i think i'll go mental if i dont. How soon after ET are all you guys going back to work?
(Hopefully ET 3rd May)
Thanx loads n loads of babydust

I am due back to work Sat 23rd. The hospital signed me off for 2 weeks from the day of EC they told me it was mostly because of EC as it is an operation, to be honest I am glad I am having the time off as my job can be stressful as well as the fact that it can get quite physical when the boys kick off and I would only have worried. I am enjoying my time off and as I work shifts I will have had about 3 weeks off by the time I go back.
I would speak to the hospital and see what they suggest.
I hope all goes well for you and wish you much luck

Hi All

Things are really moving along here. To all the 2ww'ers, just remember it's not over until the blood test says it's over....a bit of PMA needed I think. I know that I am experiencing all kinds of twinges at the moment thanks to all the poking and prodding that has happened in that area in recent times....try and relax....my clinic said that nothing I do now will have any impact on the final result. They said to do whatever I felt was right...if I felt like jogging, go for a jog, if I felt that eating KFC every night would help then do that, if I felt I needed to lay about and do nothing, then that is fine too. Basically....RELAX and try not to worry too much!

Congratulations on the needle Michelle...well done. I hope your scan today goes well and that you finally get a date for EC. The constant waiting really sucks!

Hey Delly, I had my ET yesterday too! It was a snap. DH was quite moved and has not stopped asking questions since. I now feel that I should have included him a bit more throughout the whole process.....even though I thought I was rambling on endlessly and boring him to tears! Men are strange creatures.

Hope you are all feeling great and that your treatments are being kind to you.

Best wishes
Heather

welcome Anemona, good luck with your blood test date. We LOVE +ve stories on here so come back and tell us your good news as soon as you have it please!

Susie/Elle. You both asked about work. I had ET on a Thursday and went back on the Monday. I'm self employed and would lose clients if I cancelled their classes suddenly. I worked after my first fresh cycle and it was successful so I've always been quite relaxed about keeping busy during the 2ww.

Susie. Thanks for your info re. your successful cycle, it helps as I sit here with AF-type pains.

Heather. Well done on ET. What is your test date and I'll add you to the list.

Loopy!!!!! ....it was soooooooooooo lovely to hear from you. I got all teary at seeing you were back. The very, very best of luck with your next cycle. You know how good this board is at moral support. I think there's a thread already for the summer tmts....I'll be following your news :D

'Morning to everyone else. I've still got the same heavy feeling but am now trying to think of it as something else. If it's AF then there's nothing I can do but I don't need to make myself miserable over it either.

Lovely sunny day here, hopefully more snow will melt!

Hi Susie, this is my 2nd round of ICSI. The first, in Nov-Dec last year, resulted in a +ve HPT and a +ve blood test, but sadly I then lost the pregnancy (guess I fell between what’s know as a chemical pregnancy and an early m/c). On my 2nd now, test on Weds but sadly think I’m due for a –ve as a slight AF started this am.

My clinic told me to continue life as normal. After EC we had to stay in our room until we were able to go to the loo, then went home. I went back to work the next day. After ET we have to stay in the hospital bed for 1 hour, then we go home. Again, told to carry on as normal but just to avoid strenuous exercise/heavy lifting. I returned to work the next day again.

Not sure if I’d do any different for the next time round. I suffered badly from pains this time after EC (12 eggs aspirated, which the hospital said would be enough to cause me pain). Having said that, it’s not worked, so maybe I would take a few days off after ET the next time.

Dancola, stay positive only a couple of more days until you have an official answer. I actually had a blood test on Saturday and the clinic said HCG was low and didn't look good....but still trying to remain optimistic...miracles do happen!

Hang in there...I will make the same deal I made with Debra yesterday...we both think PMA the entire day - whenever we have a negative thought..to push it out of our minds. I will even have positive thoughts regarding work  Are you in?

Delly, Elle and Heather
Congrats on the et - take it easy and have lots of PMA
Michelle - you are soooo brave, I sat for 30 mins last week and couldn't do it so DH has to do it around his shifts.
To all others, hi, hope you're all doing well and to 2ww hope the time passes quickly with a +ve outcome
Here's to a +ve week !!!!

Thanks Tracii. I know it’s good to have PMA, but I found that being prepared for the worst cushions me better for the blow when it comes! Certainly helped last cycle, otherwise I’m not sure I would have coped as well, having to suffer 2 +ves only to see it turn into a –ve. I’m at work, which helps in a way I guess as I can keep occupied.

Good afternoon girls.

Sorry to have brought negative vibe to board on Saturday. Thanks to Elle, BigJ, Sandra and Debra for you kind words of support.

Elle - on your 2WW now - you GO GIRL 8)

BigJ - read other threads and glad your trip went well. I like your turn of phrase and sense of humour

Michelle - well done on your jag. Not good news about overdoing it at work. What happened to you taking it easy and saying"Maci syas...". I hope your scan went well today and showed plenty of follicular activity over the weekend.

Sandra - of course you're right; the Dr wouldn't have prescribed if she shouldn't. How are you doin'? Are you starting stimms soon?

Debra - thanks for your info. Glad you're feeling more +ve today. There are so many highs and lows with this process aren't there. Hugs to you and plenty of PMA. I don't want to embarass you but your attitude to all this is quite inspirational

Tylerb - the headaches are a pest aren't they I had one pretty much constantly for about 5 days. Like you, reluctant to take paracetamol. A few drops of olbas oil on a hanky to sniff (like when you have a cold and blocked nose) seemed to help me a bit.

Anemona - welcome. Sitting tight until tomorrow must be really tough. Fingers crossed for good news. Only one more sleep to go.....

Kerry - keep up the PMA

Susie - lovely to hear your success with 1st attempt - your daughter. R.e. ET; I'm planning on taking 2 weeks off. I know some may think this is an unnecessary luxury but I feel it is what I need to do - GP very supportive too. Good luck with your 2nd cycle.

Christine - glad to hear downregging going ok.

To everyone else, hope all is well.

Quick update re tmt - had day 6 scan today at day 5 instead following dodgy weekend. Lining thickening nicely - 1.7mm day 1 and 6.2mm today day 5. Not to go back for next scan until Friday. Dr increased dose of Gonal-F as I had started on the lowest dose. Hopefully get date for EC when I see them on Friday.

Bye for now

Reading all your posts about work I feel really guilty,I have been signed off work for the whole treatment! But I am cabin crew and I have three girls in my base and many more nationwide who have paved the way before me,there is no way I could do my job as it is physically very demanding and you don't get a break so trying to rush injections in a tiny aircraft toilet would not be fun,but I do still feel guilty,my boss told me to relax and not sit at home worrying about not being at work which is nice.I know most of you would go mad being at home but I am used to being at home in the week anyway and DH works from home so he is with me every step of the way.
I am going for my second scan tomorrow to see how my follies are doing quite excited will fill you in tomorrow

Tylerb

Don't feel guilty about being signed off - working as cabin crew whilst going through this kind of treatment would be very difficult. Let's face it there's all the injections, not to mention the scans and what about the emotional side - I think you're in the best place :D

Good luck with the treatment and let us know how you get on.

Fingers crossed and PMA to you all.

Hi Girls ..

Maci ... Heck ... yours was a long one !! Hope your feeling better today, and a little more relaxed following your scan ..? I'm doing an FET so no stims (!) - just the worry about the thaw !!

Tylerb ... Don't feel an ounce of guilt about taking time off work. My first cycle I worked most of the 2ww, second cycle I was signed off. Although neither worked, I felt more like I was giving it my best shot being at home. I'm going to do the same this time too.

Michelle ... How's the follies today ??

Christine ..Hope your downreg's going well, and no side effects ..? I can't do my own injections either, so can completely relate. There's so many of us on this thread - it's difficult keeping up to date and holding down a job !

Hope everyone else is okay today ..
