Hello Mags

I'm glad you found this site, I only found it a week ago and am addicted already - it's such a great help and very encouraging hearing the success stories

I thought I'd reply as I'm really pleased with mine. I live in Newbury, Berkshire but have my treatment at the Harley Street Fertility Centre in London. It was recommended to me by my boss (who had treatment also) and also by my consultant at the nhs hospital. I had 2 other options which were baskingstoke and oxford - (basingstoke was where they had the embryo mix up so wasn't going there!).

Basically I chose mine because it was recommended.

The staff are excellent, even the top man is really kind and considerate of your feeling (which at the nhs hospital I didn't experience). Everything is explained thoroughly and you can phone any time of day or night for the silliest of worries and they really don't mind.

I think they've been great and feel very comfortable with them, even though it's a bit of a journey to get there.

I would say, visit a few different ones and just get a feel what you like. I was lucky I guess that my first choice was a good one.

Good luck wherever you go.

Sarah :O)

ps - I'm 30 and hubby is 38 - I have major tubal problems and also had polyps in the womb and a hormone imbalance in my ovaries. Am on my second attempt (had FET on Monday so am keeping everything cross at the mo)

Hi Sarah
Thanks for responding. Snap.... Major tubal problems also, hubby also had very low sperm but that seems to have sorted it self out now, amazing what giving up smoking does to a man!!!! so back to the IVF again, I do have 2 f/e but the thought process is to do the full cycle again while I'm willing to do it. I have limited myself on how many time I will try, until I found this site I was feeling very low and sorry for my self and had all the sad thoughts of " its never going to happen to me" and "Lets get another dog" but I have to admit this site has perked me up!!! Thanks

Sorry to chatter on but it nice to gets things of my chest.

Mags :-)

Hello again Mags

Just wondered why you're not going to use your 2 frozen embies first before starting again - they could be the ones!!! Plus the cost is greatly reduced for using frozen (mine was £850 instead of £3000). I know what you mean about setting a limit on how many goes, you could carry on forever otherwise. We're said 5 full goes (but we'll have to get a mortgate extension to do that). Hopefully this time will be the one for me. I have a good feeling. (mind you, I said that last time too ha ha).

If you didn't want to use the same clinic, could you get your frozen embies sent to your new clinic? might be worth asking about.

Keep posting on how you're getting on. There's always someone who'll listen.

Sarah :O)

Hello again Mags.

Good, I'm glad you're feeling more positive. I didn't take the full 2 weeks off this time (I did last time, but didn't have enough holiday left!), so was back to work on day 3 this time, am feeling ok though, just a bit crampy. Fingers crossed, will be good news for me this time.

Good luck to you and your hubby too - when do you start your?

Sarah

Am interested to read that alot of you took time off work after ET. I went back to work the next day, but obviously took it easy (I was using frozen embie's in a natural cycle). Anyway, I had the worst week ever at work, full of stress & arguements !! Unfortunately the ET failed, so am now thinking if taking time off work for a few days should have been the thing to do, although my clinic never mentioned this?

We have an appointment 26th of this month, but I have just had a laparoscopy - so I;m not sure how long I have to wait until I can go again, I want to start asap, I feel ready for it.

With the first time I had the wrong attitude, I was thinking I had to get the first one over and done with.........

You hear about people you take of the whole 2ww off and some go back to work, its hard to know what to do for the best....If they told me to hang upside down with a flower in my ear, I would give it a try!!!!

How are you feeling???? When do you have blood test????

Mags
