Need advice..help please

Post by isabelle »

Hi, I am new to this great forum :)

I am now at 8dp2dt and did a HTP this morning which came out with a faint positive.

I had a hcg trigger shot of 5000iu on April 7th and then 2500iu on April 10 & 11.

Should I be worried that this is HCG remaining from the trigger?

Thank you for your help :)

My clinic are adamantly against early testing (esp. with hpts). They maintain the results don't help you know anything for sure because of the reasons you've given, the traces of HCG take longer to leave your body.

My 5th 2ww ends tomorrow and so far I've always resisted testing. I couldn't stand not knowing if the hpt test was real or not. The people who have tested early on here have tended to wait until more like day 12+.

I've just checked my fertility guru's book and she (Zita West) says the HCG can distort tests for upto 14 days.

Hi there

Welcome to this site - hopefully you will find it as helpful as I have.

I have to agree with Debra though, there is always a danger with testing early which is why they advise against it :!: Although having said that, that does not mean that it is not a +ve - really you should stay strong, keep looking after yourself and get plenty of R&R and wait for the proper test date. I know it's difficult but try and hang in there.

When you feel up to it, try posting on the General Forum as well you might get more answers over there. You will also be able to chat with other girls going through the 2ww at the moment.

Speak soon

Hi there Isabelle ... The 2ww is a killer, but there's no way around it .. you've just got to stick it out until your test date.

Good luck !
