Hello all. I have been reading the site for a few days, and finally decided to register. I am having my day 9 scan tomorrow to see how many follicles I have. I am completely new to this, so have no idea yet when ec or et will be, or what to expect. Can anyone enlighten me as to ec (I am hoping not too painful?!).
The site is great, and its been good to read your stories.
Tina

Hi Becky
I am also a first timer on ICSI, as dh has low motility and low sperm count. I am sooooo nervous!
I felt quite rouh at the weekend - bloated and a bit sick. Otherwise OK. I hope my scan tomorrow shows that everything is on track. I am on burserelin and Puregon.
Good luck with your scan on Wed.
T

Hi tina, welcome,im pretty new too to this site too, although this is my 3rd go at icsi. You will probably be having e/c in a week or so,it really depends on the size of your follicles,i think you have to have at least 3 over 18mm(i think)then you will have e/c if all is well then the next day you usually get a phone call to confirm fertilisation and the next day you will have your embies put back in.I was nervous about e/c but you dont feel a thing nor will you remember anything. The e/t is very simple(bit like a smear)I hope you are finding things ok so far,try to stay as chilled as possible. If i can help anymore feel welcome to ask(though i still dont confess to knowing everything)
take care tina
best of luck
sammyxx
Hi Tina
Like Sammy, I didn't feel a thing during e/c - I had lots of drugs, one of which was pethadine and I didn't feel a thing, nor did I remember anything afterwards. My dh said that I was talking rubbish to the nurse all the way through but all I remember is waking up without ant trousers on in the rest area. Thankfully someone had put my knickers on for me!!!
Good luck and gets lots of rest and drink lots of water.
Lots of love
Lou XXX
Thanks for your replies - I am really glad I decided to calm my worries and post a message on the site - it's great to know there's so much suppport out there.
I'll defnitely make sure the nurse puts my knickers back on for me!!
Take care
T

Hi again Tina..and everyone else too!!

I am thinking of you this morning having your scan - let me know how you get on.
Yesterday was my last day at work for a couple of weeks - I am off the rest of this week to rest and enjoy pampering myself..reading lots of books and watching sky all day too! I am sure that by the end of the week I will be sick to death of tea and biscuits and begging to go back to work..
My dh has a low count and motility too..under 1 million and 4% motility..we went to the urologist who confirmed that the reason is mumps..apparently the tissues feel different in the middle of the testicles..
Did you find out the reason for your dh?

Let me know how you get on today..I am so excited for my scan tomorrow morning..just hope that we both have the right sized follicles and all if going well..(sometimes I wish that we had a see through belly so we could see what was going on in there!:0)

Love Becky B
Hi Becky
Scan went well - I have to go tomorrow morning for another scan and blood test. They think ec will be Friday- I hope so!
Good luck with yours tomorrow - I hope you'll be on to the next stage soon as well.
Take care and best of luck tomorrow.
T
