Not good news

Post by michelle_in_scotland »

Hiya girls,
I had my e/c this morning, it went ok, was a bit painful in parts but i don't really remember much.
Anyways, the outcome wasn't very good news, it is a total freeze all afterall. They collected 22 eggs so no e/t for me on Friday, have to wait about 6 - 8 weeks to have an FET. I was really gutted at getting this far and no e/t. Michael kept saying to look at the positives, it'll give my body a chance to calm down, only the best embryo's will survive etc etc, i know he's right but it still doesn't stop the disappointment. I've to phone up tomorrow morning to find out how many have fertilized.
So that's it, i'm no longer a March/April buddy, i'll probably be a June girl now.
I'll be keeping an eye on all my March/April buddies, wish you all the best luck in the world.
Going for a lie down on the couch now as i'm a bit uncomfortable sitting here.
Take care and talk to you all soon.
Lotsa love

Michelle

Michelle  So sorry to hear your news! It's very frustrating especially when you had your heart set on the next stage the ET but the only way to look at it that it's a set back but not all is lost! Try to stay positive - as Michael says you've been through a lot at this stage and this will give you time to rest and get your strength built up again for the next stage  Good luck with your phone call tomorrow hope you get some good news  Take care.

Hi Michelle .. I know you're disappointed.... you've waited so long to get to this stage, and been through so much, for it to be swept away at the last minute ... I can understand ...

However - the risks just aren't worth it Michelle. Everyone's got your best interests at heart, and as Michael's said your body will be in a much less traumatised state to cope with a pregnancy !!

Get some rest, let your body heal, and use this as an opportunity to get your body in peak condition for FET.

Make sure you keep your eye on us !

I have to agree with Becky!

Everything's blossoming, days are longer and all that light makes you feel better!

Take a good rest and spoil youself as much as you can.

Hopefully you won't be able to do that later on...!

Michelle, I hope this morning you wake up feeling a little happier about yesterday 22 is an enormous starting number of eggs, good luck with how many fertilise.

The fact is you had no choice. Continuing was dangerous and wasn't an option. As the others have said, use the break to get ready for your FET, it won't be long and you'll be better prepared than doing it now when your body is under such stress.

Hope the pains have gone too. Let us know how many made it to the next stage.
hugs
Debra

WOW 22 eggs! That is fantastic - and your body will definitely need a break and get ready for the ET...I think it is positive news! Plus can give you more time to cut down the smoking....

Let us know how you are once you recover!

Like everyone has said...22 eggs is amazing!!! Sorry that you cannot proceed at this stage but just imagine how much better prepared you will be with all this experience behind you. Take good care of yourself and I look forward to hearing about your positive FET results!

Hi Michelle

Like everyone else I am sorry and here's a big hug and some PMA for the coming days.

22 eggs is a fantastic number so try and focus on that rather than anything else if you can.

Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

Hi Michell,

I'm sorry you didn't get to ET - its a real disappointment but 22 eggs thats a brilliant result for EC.

I had EC on 18 March and developed OHSS and had to freeze all my embryos on the day transfer was due. I was gutted. Our Dr. told us that most people use their second best embryos for a FET whereas we would be using our best embryos for our FET, so our chances were just as good as a fresh transfer. So I'm all set for a FET around 21/22 May.

Take it easy and get all the rest you can to get your body back healthy. I know its hard but try and think of the positive result you got from EC. Thinking of you.
