Hello lesley and welcome.I have only posted on here a couple of times myself. I had a sterilisation reversal back in dec 2001 and fell pregnant in june of this year, only to find out it was ectopic. I was 5 weeks and i was devastated. Me and my DP (darling partner) are hoping to start ivf but i am waiting for my 2 day blood test, period should be here in a few days!!Anyway just keep strong look after yourself and lets hope the new year will bring you some good luck.
look forward to chatting to you soon.
take care
mel xx
hello lesley & melanie,

sorry never had a eptopic,so i cant help you there but im sure someone has who can help you and give you advise.
i just want to welcome you both to the site. and to wish you all the luck in the world.
lots of love
beck xx
Hello Lesley,

I am also quite new on the site. I had an ectopic a few years back. I know exactly how you feel. The first week is the worst but you will move on and feel much better about everything. Just try and take it easy and rest loads.
Hello Lesley & Melanie

Welcome to this site, I'm glad you've found us but sorry about the circumstances if you know what I mean. I know what you're going thro' as I've had 2 ectopics. They were both a long time ago now (1996 & 1997) but I can still remember that totally devestating and raw feeling you are left with afterwards and I'm really sorry that you have had to go through this. The physical pain heals within about 6 weeks but the emotional pain takes longer and you have to give yourself time to come to terms with what has happened, you have to deal with the loss of a much wanted baby but also the loss of part or in some cases all of your fertility, (unfortunately I lost both my tubes which is why I'm having IVF). Have you checked out the ectopic website (www.ectopic.org)? It's very supportive and extremely informative about your chances of getting pregnant again, there's even a forum for girls actively ttc who share all of their experiences. Have a look if you haven't already, it's a fab board.

Good luck with IVF if this is the route you decide to take. As you can see from the many positive stories on this board that it can and does work.

Please feel free to post anytime, sometimes it helps just getting things down in writing.

Wishing you all the luck in the world.
Keep in touch.
Luv Julie x

Julie, age 35. Married 12 years, ttc for 10 years, 2 ectopic pregnancies, lost both tubes so tried IVF. 7 unsuccessful attempts and have reached the end of the road so not sure where I belong !!
Hello everyone hope you are all well, thankyou for your replies i'ts always nice to hear from others who know what we are going through. I lost my left tube which the consultant said was the best side so dont know if my right side is working, that is why we are hopefully going to start ivf soon, Thankyou Julie for the web address i will definatley go and have a read. I want to wish everybody lots of luck in whatever treatment they are having and send all of you my best wishes. Hope to chat again soon.
Lots of Love
Melanie xxx
