I'AM 39 AND TRYING TO BECOME PREGNANT, I HAVE DONE A IUI LAST
YR. I BECAME PREGNANT AND AT 15WKS, I HAD A MISCARRIGE. THIS TIME I AM TRYING IT AGAIN AN IUI, FOR THE 3RD TIME. I TOOK GONEL F DRUGS, AND I HAVE NOW MANY MANY FOLICALS. MY PROBLEM IS THAT NOW THE DR. SAYS I HAVE TOO MANY. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT I COULD HAVE MORE THAN 2 PREGNANCIES IF I CONTINUE THIS CYCLE. SO I'M CONFUSSED ON WHAT TO DO. I ONLY DID WHAT THE DR. SAID, SO NOW I'AM FACED WITH THE DESSISION OF CONTINUING OR STOPPING?????? IF I CREATE MORE THAN 2 OR 3 PREGNANCIES, I MAY HAVE TO END 3 OF THEM, WHICH WOULD HAPPEN AROUND 14WEEKS. YES 14WEEKS, AND I'M NOT SURE IF I CAN DO THAT.
I really cant help you, I am starting my first iui very soon. But i have been told that if i have too many they will stop it and i get no choice..

TTC 6yrs......Have jumped off the rollercoaster for now, too many BFN's and too much heartache, to keep going....Moving on to fulfil other dreams!!!

I am so sorry that I can't help in any way, but I would urge you, like the others have, to post this on the General Forum as well because you will get more replies and hopefully somebody can help you out.

Just had cycle of iui, didn't work. We were warned about things you are talking about. If there were more than 2/3 follicles they would do a follicular reduction and if they missed a follicle and there were more than 2 embryos they would remove one, probably as you are going through now. they said that if we couldn't bare thought of that we shouldn't go for iui. Of course we didn't seriously consider this and just thought how awful if we did have to make that decision. i am so sorry to see you having to make that decision. Based on nothing but my gut instinct, I would go ahead with treatment if poss and have some embryos 'removed' if it becomes necessary. Even as I write this I'm cringing at the word 'removal' as it is horrible when linked to a new life. i cannot tell you how I would cope with that decision or if i would actually make that decision if I were in your place.
