Dear all,

I'm new to the site (Tracy D introduced me - thanks Tracy!).

I am currently going through a 3rd ICSI cycle and had the ET on Sat 2nd Nov. I have been getting stomach cramps since Saturday and am worried that this is bad news as it feels like I do every month. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Is there any hope, or should I stop getting my hopes up?

It would be great to get some reassurance from people - as you know it is a very lonely business.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to having some chats soon,

Alison
Hello Alison

Welcome to the site! I'm quite new too. Had my first FET on 28th Oct (first IVF failed in June). On about day 8 post FET I had mega cramps just as if a/f was due to arrive at any moment. They carried on almost every day and night, sometimes really painful too. I asked the same question a week ago and both Beck and Louise replied saying they had these cramps and since tested positive so are now pg!!!!!

I had my blood test yesterday and to my shock and delight, I was positive too, cramps and all!!! Still can't believe it really as I was convinced a/f was well on the way.

I take cramps to be a good sign so stop worrying and start thinking positive.

Very very very very very best of luck!!!!

Love Sarah
Hi Alison,

I am newish to this all , am doing my first IVF , E/T wsa on November 4 th and I too am suffering period like cramps. Since Beck n Louse , as Sarah says, had cramps n now positive results we can only assume the best ! This 2ww is definitely aslow torture ! This moring I nearly went to get a hpt but then have promised myslef not to test in anyway until the 19th , test with lab is scheduled for 21st. I figure as long as I don't know there is still hope .. Hang in there we are all in it together ! Incidentally, check out the cover of TIME Magazine which is about pregnancy and all the developments - pretty cool when you think this is what could go on inside us !

Take care
Good luck to you too Susi and DON'T DO THAT HOME TEST!!! Don't forget that if you're using pessaries or have had the HCG jab, it will still be in your system and will give you a false test result. Try and wait until the test with clinic, at least you know that will be definate!

Easy for me to say now - I was dying during that 2WW it nearly did me in! Was like torture so I know how you both must be feeling.

sending you some good vibes........

Sarah x
Hi Alison,

Yep can only agree with the others, I was so convinced that I was due on that I told my husband I was definately not pg and that I knew my body so well....needless to say I was wrong and have my two little babies to prove it. |When I went in to get my blood test even the nurse said that those symptoms were one of the best signs you can have.

So everything crossed for you

Love
Nicky
Thanks for all the positive comments from everyone - it helps so much to know that others are going through exactly the same thing!! Good luck to everyone in their 2 ww - it sure is hell!

Alison
Hi everyone
Alison, yes, I had really bad cramps too. I am due for my 1st preg scan tomorrow and still have bad cramps so try not to worry - just rest as much as you can. My hospital said I could take paracetamol, check with yours - at least you can forget about them then. Good luck with your test.

That's really reassuring about what you said about cramps Nicky - I get really worried about them sometimes. Will be pleased tomorrow after the scan as I still can't believe I'm pregnant as apart from cramps and have gone off food a bit, I don't really feel any different.

Susi - don't do a test - it is really tempting, Beck was really tempted too, we were on 2ww together. Can sympathise with you though as 2ww is hell. Good luck with your test and everyone else on 2ww.

Lots of love
Louise XXX
I also had cramps and had a positive test. I will be having my first scan next week. I had a look on the net and this is not unusual. Your body is just adjusting to the hormones. I have also gone off my food.
To my dear friend Alison,(telephone buddy)

Yes I am getting them big time and I only had my e/t last Thursday. I was feeling quite positive until last night when period cramps were coming thick and fast. When you feel like this it is hard to believe that you can be pregnant because as you said this is how we feel every month.

Take care

Love

Tracey D
Hi all, I am brand new to the site and was really interested when I came across this topic of period like stomach cramps. I only had my egg transfer yesterday and have terrible cramps. I keep telling hubby that it isn't working and that I am going to come on. It is so reassuring to know that this is actually a good sign!

Other pains I am getting is backache, is this normal too?

Nicola
Hi everyone,

Have been travellling for work so haven't been online since Tuesday . When I left had the period like cramps, which now have all but disappeared since yesterday. Did anyone else having a quiet spell after a week after the e/t ? Am now afraid that it's all over ?
Or is this just part o fo the roller coaster ride ?
Well in a week we'll test and know - but it's going to be a loooong week.

Hope everyone else is feeling better than me ...
