Biochemical Pregnancy

Hello Does anyone know what one of these are? I got a positive on Monday which we were chuffed to bits about, but have read on here that someone had a biochemical pregnancy was a positive test but nothing showed up on the scan. Is this commmon? Can you tell if you have one? Do you have normal pg symptoms? Am worried now! Can anyone help? Sarah

me to sah................yes ive heard this as well.........i think its a empty sack .. (not sure to be honest). but you will be reasured after the scan.thats why i cant wait till tuesday, so then i know !! hugs beck x

Hi I tested positve last Thursday but the HCG levels in my blood were very low ( 14 - they are looking for at least 50 )I had another blood test on Monday to monitor what was going on and we were told the level has now dropped away to almost nil.They said this was a biochemical pregnancy.Apparantly the embryo had implanted which was why we had the +ve result but it had stopped soon after - which explains why the hcg level did not go up to 50+ Hope this helps Im sure you will get a great big healthy +ve Good luck Frances

Sarah If you search back through the chat archives, to early October I think, Fiona gave an excellent reply to exactly the same question when i asked it. I can't remember all the details but i know it was really detailed. DON'T WORRY THOUGH !!!!!! Hope this helps Take care LOL Terri xx
