BFP on 05/05/05!!! Low Estrogen. Has anyone had same?

Post by T.J. »

Hello Ladies,

I can't believe I am able to post on this board! :o My dh and I are trying to be cautiously excited. The news is so new to us still. My HCG was 206, which I was told was a good solid #. However, they had some concerns that my estrogen level was low. The dr's office seemed confident that this problem could be resolved with estrogen patches. Has anyone heard of or experienced this same problem? What has anyone heard about the impact of low estrogen levels on the baby or the chances of a ms.

I go back for 2nd blood test on Monday and will feel much better once I know all the numbers are rising like they should. (I have already started the estrogen patches).

I hope I'm not to early to post over here.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi TJ,

I got a BFP yesterday (5-9) and my hCG was 226. And, like you, dh and I are still trying to let it sink in and believe its true! The 5th day after my ET, I went back to have my blood checked. My estrogen was down and they upped my dosage. I'm taking estradiol and progesterone IM along with progesterone suppositories and tablets. When I had the blood draw yesterday, my estrogen had nearly doubled so they are very pleased. I have heard of others on the other board talking about estrogen patches. Some have mentioned skin irritation. Might want to check over there for more info.

Katy - Thank you for sharing your information. I went back for a follow-up blood test and the doctor's office said everything looked great and that the patches did exactly what they were supposed to. I was relieved. I am on Progesterone too, but they have us doing it through shots. I asked the doctor if the Estrogen could possibly harm the baby and he said that it could do nothing but good. Once it is absorbed into my blood system, it becomes natural estrogen. I am relieved.

Congratulations again on your BFP. I'm hoping we see a lot more from the May Flowers this month!

Hi TJ,

Glad you got great news and the patches are doing as they should!! I went back to the dr. today for another blood check and my hCG had nearly doubled - already over 400.

The May bloomers are doing great!! Hopefully, many more will join us soon. I know that Maci got a BFP today!!!
