hi all, well today has taken my breath away. i posted earlier about being bored rigid waiting for AF to come while i was downregging. i have had strange low down feelings which i cant really describe but which indicated it was just around the corner.
anyway, i thought i'd do an hpt just for the helll of it and yes, i got a BFP! didnt ever think i'd see that result. I rushed straight to my IVF clinic and they did an immediate blood test which again came back positive. i am now waiting for them to ring with the results of the HCG levels. i am over the moon and in utter shock. our situation was unexplained but having started a second ivf cycle it was the last thing i expected.
my clinic takes the policy that the downregging cant have caused any problems and said that this does occasionally happen and most frequently after an initial failed cycle. they have suggested i take the progesterone pessaries for a few weeks too. i am going back on sat to check hcg levels again and they will also scan me at 6.5 weeks to check for a heartbeat.
thanks for all of your support girls. i feel a bit lost now as to where to go. i will of course stick around to see how you are all doing. it's vvvv early days for me too and i'm feeling very cautious.

we werent blessed with our babies to raise here but we our blessed with our grandaughter

thank you all so much. your support is wonderful. HCG levels are fine apparently - 367. i am guessing they relate to 17dpo but i cant be 100%. i will have them checked again on saturday.
it's strange.. i was beginning to feel quite knowledgeable about ivf. i now feel like i've been plunged into unknown territory. hope things become clearer as time goes by.

hi there. i actually got pregnant naturally. i had been downregging for around 10 days when i found out i was pregnant. my consultant had said to me to go out and enjoy myself and "you never know what might happen" before the second ivf and she was right! amazingly this was a natural conception. i had a -ve ivf result on march 7th and then went on to have 2 AFs before starting this next cycle which i was downregging for. it must have happened right at the end of our holiday in Morocco or immediately we go back.

Good Heavens! What fantastic news Minnow. I am so very happy for you and DH. I can understand the feeling of being lost....IVF becomes all consuming and I can imagine that you were not prepared for this outcome. Enjoy it! Keep us posted on HCG levels and scans etc. Well done you.
