Hello All!

Post by trying in greece »

My name is Elisa Sophia. I am 32, my husband Demetri is 38. We tried for 6 months before finding out that my PCOS and his very low count were getting us nowhere fast. Demetri has had surgery and we are waiting to begin our meds/process on monday. We are in Greece for other reasons, but also because the cost here is so low, only $3,500 including meds and ICSI.

I am nerveous, excited, unsure about what to expect...every emotion waves over me at some point during the day.

I am looking forward to chatting with all of you and learning from your experiences.

:) Elisa Sophia

Hi there Elisa Sophia - Welcome to the Site. You will find lots of support here, to help you through your cycle.

Each hospital/clinic has a slightly different protocol, so your tmt won't be exactly the same as others - but the backbone will be.

It's only natural to be nervous and excited. There's a great book by Zita West called "Fertility and Conception" that we recommend. It has lots of uselful tips, and a section on Assisted Conception. This should give you some insight into your treatment. It's certainly well worth the £15 and more more read you are, the less anxious you'll feel (well, that's the theory, anyway !).

If you come over to the General Forum you'll see the first thread is Abbreviations. This will help you enormously, as you just WILL NOT guess some of them.

You'll see on the General F that girls group together in months according to when they are going through treatment. If you post on the May Cycle Buddies thread, you'll be with others currently cycling. As you're starting halfway through May, you'll spill over into the June/July thread. Don't worry, so will others.

You'll also see that those who have just finished a cycle, and are currently on their 2ww (2 week wait before test day), post together on a thread called May 2ww.

There's also a thread called May Test Dates for those about to test !

Come over and join us !!

Sandra, thanks for the response. I did buy a book called the couples guide to IVF. It was a big help, and of course the internet has been amazing. My RE in Michigan has an amazing woman that works for him and she gave me so much info. Its a bit difficult since I don't speak Greek very well, and my husband will have to do a lot of translation, and take very copius notes so we make sure we do everything correctly. I can't wait til monday to get started!
I will look at the other threads and posts. :)
