Hi everyone

I am on my two week wait following transfer on Friday 13th - of all the dates!!
We only had one embryo survive so been told not to get our hopes up.

This is our second cycle. We previously did a cycle locally in 2003 and had a 'chemical pregancy', started bleeding at week 5.

Since then we have been waiting to restart but have had complications ergarding hospital politics - you wouldn't want to know!! Our treatment is PGD which means that there are only a few hospitals licensed to carry out the procedure. I have a genetic renal disorder that is fatal if passed to a child and that is why we are having the treatment. I am so torn between wanting to have a healthy baby and my own selfish needs of trying naturally and wishing for the best.

This site is really helpful as none of my friends or family realise the emotional rollercoaster of this- they think we went to London to have a baby and will come back knitting bootees!!

I had transfer 13th May too so come over on the 2ww thread and join us, let LittleP have your test date and she'll put you on the list on this thread. We all have different reasons for going through this, and once you have read the other girls' experiences I am sure you will be glad you have made this decision for the health of your future baby.

Hi Julie/Hopeful ... Don't let the doctors dishearten you - one baby embi is all that is needed ! There are already a couple of us currently on 2ww having had just one embi replaced. Come and join us ..!

Hello all! Thanks again for all the well wishes. I still can't believe it. My DH and I are still in disbelief. It was exciting telling our family. We have dreamed of that day for so long.

Friday the 13th isn't always bad.... Throughout this whole process my DH and I have went through. I had surgery on April 1st (April Fools) and my DH had surgery on Friday the 13th..... Isn't that strange. Then on the day we did the egg aspiration we had Chinese food and my fortune said..... "All your efforts will be worthwhile" I saved it and it is now proudly posted on our frig. So you never know.
