thanks Randa    the girls have kept me in check today, on the 2ww thread Sand and co stopped me going out with one of the dogs....you are all so supportive!! just wait til it's your turn and we'll look after you too

You know, I am glad you said you can't believe it Jude, as it all seems very unreal to me too, I think even if I have a +ve it'll be unreal. I guess it's so different when you're not involved in the egg production it must just take longer to sink in   I am very excited about your twins, as whatever happens to me, I know it can work and that George and the team can do their stuff!!!

crawling my way through this first week

Hi Girls,

Apologies for not posting for ages.

My DE IVF worked and I'm now 11 weeks pregnant - with twins! Seen both heartbeats and both babes are doing well. I'm feeling nausea, and I'm getting fat.

Babydust to you all

.....I can only dream of being groovy and calm. DF went back to work today and I was sure I'd manage. Not done so well so far......not DD's fault, just being a 2 year old but I've found it very difficult at times. Probably got another hour before I can put my feet up. I've zero tolerance and we need TONNES of that right now. I've only had to manage since 4.30.........pretty feeble really.

Making progress though. No crying today and less pain-killers - should be feeling almost human again by the weekend.

We're off to see the clinic first thing Monday. Not sure how long they'll suggest waiting, I'm guessing at least 2 full, regular AFs so perhaps we'll aim for starting meds in August.

You'll be over there soon enough BigJ - enjoy the moment and don't wish your life away!!!

hugs
D.

Hi Sandra, I'm feeling 'ok' no better but then I've had a trying day. Prepare for long, boring detail......

I needed to submit my application for continued residence today. I've lived here 4 years but will need to apply once a year for another 3 years when I'll get citizenship. The office is only open 12 hours a week and today hours were 10.00-14.00 so got down there at 11.10, picked up my deli-style number ticket and worked out I had 72 people ahead of me. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH....it took just over 3 hours to get to the front of the queue (the office had closed by this time, locking us in) and discovered that I was the last person to be seen. The system automatically stops issuing tickets when it works how long it will take to see everyone (most of the time, only one window is open) so for once, I had a HUGE stroke of luck. Yes waiting for 3 hours in a crowded room filled with tons of bored adults and kids of every nationality under the sun makes for interesting viewing but if I'd been 1min later arriving, I'd have missed it for today and for the application deadline.

I'm now off to collect DD and then visit a friend for supper. I found last night too much on my own so will share the burden!

Pains are sporadic now but much worse first thing, AF looks to be on the wane - HOORAY! although Dolly has warned me it can go on.

I'm thinking of you lots you know. It seems (to me) this fortnight has shot past and now it's your turn. You know how many people are willing you on and waiting to see you big grin don't you? LOADS!

hugs

Thanks Debra ! You know, if that big grin comes about, I've threatened to put it on a photograph tomorrow and post it on that photobucket website ...

It sounds like you've had a nightmare day so far, albeit lucky. If my df had have been with you, you'd have been deported by now .. He can't even wait at red traffic lights ... No - we have to go on a 3sq mile detour just to avoid them. 72 people !?! - Your heart must have sunk.

Supper and a natter with a friend sound like a real good idea. If you have a glass of wine, pls have one for me - and give Maya a special little hug, just for being a beautiful little girl ..

Thank you Sandra - I look forward to your photo, I have no doubt we'll all be whooping alongside you tomorrow. Don't forget I'm up early so if you could test around 0500 UK time, that would suit me well - tee hee :!:

No wine as I was driving home but oddly, despite thinking I can have a glass now, I don't fancy it yet. We're about to book a short trip to Italy, from whilst we're in the UK, and I can see lots of wine being drunk then. I also need to make up for months and months of night-time distance from DF. Poor guy!

I hope your final night passes smoothly. I'll check on the other threads to see if you're hpting or not.

hugs

Sandra,
Your test won't be an hpt will it? You'll go to the clinic and get a blood test, right?
So anxious for your good news. How are you feeling?

Debra,
Sorry you are still feeling poorly, but I guess it's to be expected. What an ordeal with the long wait for your residency paper. But, like you, there was a small silver lining in the cloud and you found it.
Italy sounds nice. I'm sure wine tastes better there although I've never been. My dh is 1/2 Columbian and 1/2 Italian. He wants to take me to Europe and especially to Italy. I'm sure we'll get to it, but the baby plans are the main focus for now.

Enjoy your sweet little girl. My baby girl graduates next week from High School. And yes, it all went by in the blink of an eye. Gonna be a bitter/sweet time. (A little brag, bear with me) Her classmates voted her "Most Likely to Become a Model" She towers over me now. Okay, I'll stop there.

Best to all on the "over-40" thread.

Thanks Randa, I do try to enjoy each day. I try not to regret anything about her growing up - although preferred it when she couldn't run away when I want to cuddle her - and tell I love her everyday. If I wasn't too dim to work out photobucket I'd post a photo.......

Brag all you want. If you can't take pride in your child, what next???

Your DH sounds very exotic, is he? was he raised in the US? People think my DF will be tall and blonde just because he's scandanavian, my family were disappointed to find out they come in brown, black, yellow, red varieties too! Don't put off the visit to Europe, much easier now than with a small baby (or 2) in tow. Did DH enjoy his trekking? was it what he hoped for? how many rolls of film did he take?

Yes the wine in Italy will taste very nice indeed...still not booked it yet but soon!

hugs

Hi Randa ... Thanks for your kind thoughts .. My hospital don't do bloods any more - which I'm a bit peed about. So, I will just be doing the hpt in the morning. If it's +ve, it's then a scan in 3 weeks. It seems a bit of a raw deal when so many others get their beta levels checked a few times. Oh well ... if it is +ve in the morning, I PROMISE I will stop complaining !!

I've had AF pains again for the large part of today, but no show so far. I'm going to go to bed now. Hope I don't have bad dreams, but probably will as have had a stack of cheese (hhmm !) for supper. Naughty, but nice !!

Hope you're having a good day ... How many hours behind London are you ..? 8 ? I've got this lovely, enormous world map up on the wall in front of me. I love maps. I didn't realise Seattle was so far north. We made friends with a lovely couple from Vancouver Island whilst on hol recently. That's not far at all from you is it ..?

Anyway .. I'm waffling now ... I MUST go to bed and get some shut eye !
