Quick buserelin down regulation

Post by JM »

Buserelin - down regulation. Has anyone on this site completed down regulation on buserelin before the 14 days? I seem to have reacted quickly to drug and they want to blood test and scan before the 14 days (on day 10) :o

Hi JM welcome to the site, if you are cycling you should join the May buddies thread / June buddies thread. If you post your question there you'll get a quick reply. You can obviously join any other threads you like, but that's where you'll find the girlies on the same cycle as you. I am using donor eggs and menopausal so haven't done a down reg sorry.

Hi JM - Welcome to the site. I've always started Buserelin on day 21 of cycle, and AF (period) has arrived on day 31 - so 11 days. Then obviously Buserelin continues, along with stimming medi.

Hi JM

Welcome to the site.

Like Sandra I'm always on a long protocol so start on day 21, then wait for AF and continue Buserelin whilst using the stimming drugs.

Pop over the General Forum and come and chat with us. If you ask the same question over there you might find you get one or two more answers.

PMA and good luck.

Yes - there are different protocols - long protocol / short protocol, and it seems there are even variations within them.

I do the long protocol. I start Buserelin on Day 21, AF arrives usually day 28 and I have my first scan after day 5 (so roughly 2 weeks after starting the injections). They then prescribe the stimulation drugs (for me that’s Gonal F). You would normally carry on taking the down reg-drugs though until EC as you don’t want your system to start up again! The only reason we wait until Day 5 for our first scan is to give AF time to finish. I can’t see that scanning whilst AF is on would give a clear scan?
