I know most of you are having IVF treatment but I would really appreciate some advice on Ovarian Drilling. My doctor has put me on a list for this operation. I have looked it up on the internet but there is very little info available. Have any of you heard of this procedure or had it done? Did it help? The doctor has said that there is no risk of damaging my ovaries further but I am worried about this.
I have just finished my last course of Clomiphene Citrate and it has not worked. I am feeling a bit down but relieved that there are other options available to us.
Also any advice on Ovulation Predictor Kits/Microscopes. How easy are they to use? Do they work? Where can I get them from? The ones I have seen in Boots are very expensive!
If I decide to have the Ovarian Drilling the doctor is going to give us three months and if we don't conceive in that time we are going to be put forward for some funded IVF.
I have so many questions about this and do not have anyone around me that has been through it. Everyone is very supportive but they are unable to answer my questions.
I'm afraid I can offer no advice about Ovarian drilling at all - I wish you loads of luck with your research though.
Ovulation Sticks are very good and certainly accurate. I know they are expensive but they do predict that all important LH surge. There are alternative ones to the branded ones (ClearBlue), which are Boots own, Sainsbury etc.
Does your clinic not have a leaflet about Ovarian Drilling that explains it all?
Fingers crossed that you get some answers very soon.
but i am glad that you have found this forum and i know i have made lots of friends here..
and i am sure that you will to..

Hello, no info on Ovarian drilling (sorry) but I've used the ovulation pee sticks prior to a natural FET. I think there were 7 in the box and as I only needed to test on days 14 + 15, they would have lasted 3 months. To be honest, everything is expensive in this game so shop around and see what offers there might be, but I'd be surprised if they're ever on 'Buy 2, Get 3' deals

hi there,
just wanted to let you know of a really good site wherte i bought all my pregnancy and ovulation tests from. they are v reliable and cheap and you normally receive them the next day or day after. i didnt go for the well known makes of ovulation tester as i wanted to buy in bulk. the ones which offer a box of 20 upwards are great value. they work by being dipped in the urine rather than in the urine stream itself so you'll need an old cup or something to wee into!
Hi Nik,
I had my ovaries drilled about 7 years ago. I was having periods about once a year due to PCOS, and my specialist sent me for ovarian drilling. I had it done and my periods came back. I started to have periods every month but after 6 months they dissapeared again.
Basically I think all they do is drill the ovaries to pop the cysts. Sounds awful but I was in and out of hospital in a day, and had v little pain afterwards.
