Randa

I hope that you are ok and that by now DH is back with you. What a horrible decision to have to make, my heart goes out to you.

Thinking of you and hoping that things go well from here on.

Big hugs and huge amounts of PMA.

Little P

PS Thanks girls for the kind words.

Thanks everyone for your support. I should be more upset than I am, but I just felt all along that this round was less effective. So I guess I was prepared.

LittleP, did you tell your clinic about Caroline's catastrophe with too much water? I'm sure they know what they are doing, but it never hurts to share everything you know with them.

Neither's mine Lumi ... no advice about anything whatsoever - except "carry on as normal during 2ww". Em - right.

Apparently they do swap between do drugs with quite a few people - that is why they do the blood test daily.

As for the fluid, well ..... I'm just swishing away at the moment - about 50 trips to the loo overnight, but hey it's all in a good cause - hopefully :D

How are you all?

Hi Little P
Glad to hear all is going well. I am interested they told you to eat more!! I wish someone would tell me that! I was told on one cycle to drink all through the night as well as the day .

Rhanda
Sorry about your hard decision but it sounds as if you made the right choice.Take care of yourself .

Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend....
I went to the Doctor's on Friday after work and got my prescription. I took it in to Boots on Saturday morning and have to go back today to see if they've managed to get hold of it all. I hope it's OK, as the doctor seemed a bit confused.... He couldn't seem to find some of the things exactly as they were written on the private prescription.... For example the HCG (Pregnyl) he could only find in 5,000 units, not the 10,000 on the prescription - so he's put two of them down. Is this normal? Will I have to inject them separately or do I add them together. I'm sure the clinic will tell me this, but I thought I'd ask here....
If I get the drugs at lunchtime, I'll ring the clinic this afternoon and try and get a teaching appointment later this week. Then I think it will all start to seem real! I still can't quite believe I'm actually going to do this!
I'm not too good with 'PMA' so I'm not getting my hopes up for a positive result, but I think I'll just be delighted to get as far as EC. There are so many things that can go wrong before then, that if we make it that far I'll feel like we've at least got a chance - something we've never had before.
I'll let you nkow how I get on later...

Randa, d'you know the really scary thing about Little P being advised to drink all that water - it's the same clinic I was at last year! I PM'd Little P about it because I was so concerned about her. As far as I can tell they're the only ones who get people to drink this much water and I thought they'd stopped doing it after what happened to me. Little P, hope you're ok and not torn between conflicting advice.

Faith, I'm sure it'll become real when you start on the meds. I've been on them a week now and up to then I really pretended it wasn't happening at all. Being on here helps, though I think it also helps to go away and think about something else too!

Hope everyone else is having a good day

Just re-read my post and of course I meant to say that I hope we get as far as ET, not EC!

Faith, the Pregnyl generally comes in two vials plus one filled with water. You mix them all together to give one shot!

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Thanks, Heather....
That's exactly what I wanted to know! I was beginning to think I'd have to give myself two of that injection and that's the worst one, isn't it? Must say I'm really dreading the needles.... DH is due to be away for the first few days, if AF arrives on time, so I think I'll have to do them myself...aaaarrrggghhh!

Faith, I found the injections to be the best part of the treatment. That may sound weird but the needles are so tiny that you cannot feel them at all. The Pregnyl shot itself didn't hurt but the injection site was a bit sore for a day or two afterwards. I really dislike the sniffing (downregging) and the crinone gel following ET. Don't stress about the needles at all, I did all my own injecting and it really was ok.

Cheers
