GO FOR AND WERE THEY BLASTS AND WHAT ARE YOU ALL HAVING.AS FOR ME I DID IVF/ICSI/PESA SOME 8YEARS AGO AND HAVE 7YEAR OLD TWIN GIRLS,NOW I AM GOING FOR IT AGAIN AND ER IS NEXT WEEK,NOT SURE HOW MANY TO TRANSFER AND SHOULD I GO FOR BLAST,THANSK AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL ITS ALL WORTH IT.
congrats on ur 7 yr old twins - its always nice to hear a success story!! as for me and my husband we were very lucky that our first attempt worked, we had ICSI and they put 2 embies back and we are now 30 weeks pregnant with twins.
Where abouts do you live? i dont often hear of people getting much choice about how many get put back these days - but thats only in this country. the standard tends to be 2, in very few cases i have heard of 3. you are lucky you get the choice.......
I don't really know anything about blasts - my advice would be to post onnthe general board too - as a lot of the girls that hang out on there are going through treatment at the moment - and would be able to help you through it all - its such an emotional struggle isn't it?!
Good luck with ER next week - i really hope it works out for you again! Hope to see you posting on this side for other reasons in the next few weeks,
Sorry i wasn't much help!

Trying to conceive for over a yr
First ICSI - Nov 04 - Twins!!!
Thomas and Charlotte born 06/07/05 :D
Hi, I had two blastocysts transferred in our first ICSI treatment, which amazingly was successful & I am now 20 weeks pregnant with triplets!
How many did you have transferred when you got pregnant with your twins?
I understand that in UK you can only have max of 2 transferred unless you are over 40 when you can have 3.
Hope that helps.

TTC - 3 years
1st ISCI - Jan/Feb 2005 - BFP 19Feb, can't believe it!!
It is twins - amazing!!!! Due on my birthday- 28 October! No, unbelievably discovered at 12 weeks Nuchal Scan that it is actually Triplets!!
Yes i can only transfer 2,i am 29years old.When i had my twins i actually transferred 3 2day embroys.
How are you doing??are you scared???thats what i keep thinking,if i put blasts, will i get triplets and then imagine 5childeren but then again if i put 1 and what if i dont get pregnant, its such a difficult situation.
Let me know how you are getting along, isnt it very rare for a blast to split??
goodluck
We decided to go for Blasts for this cycle after 2 failed ICSI cycles and a failed FET (all 2 day transfers) we needed to take things further for this attempt. The extra wait can be a bit scarey when going for Blasts as we were warned you may end up with nothing to transfer, we got 20 eggs, and out of 12 embies only 2 Blasts! We had 2 put back, and I am now pregnant with one Baby! Blast transfers do seem to have really good results, I think if you can to go for it. Also it takes a few days off the 2ww which is always a good thing, I only had an 8 day wait!
Congratulations to you with your Twin Girls! And lots of luck with this cycle!

I chose to have 3 embryos put back. I really wanted a 5 day transfer (blast), so I was really disappointed when they called on day 3 and said to come in. Then the Dr. explained that out of my 10 that fertilized...3 of them were so much better than the rest that he already knew which ones he was going to transfer so why wait until day 5 when they could be in the natural environment instead of the lab. He said if I had 6 embryos all growing at the same very nice rate on day 3, he would have waited until day 4 or 5 to see which ones were the best.
My DH and I did IVF/ICSI and got pregnant the first time. I transferred two blastocyst and one that was a grade below (not quite a blastocyst). We had always only planned to transfer 2 blastocyst however our eggs didn't grow well and out the the 14 that fertilized only 2 made it to blastocyst. So my doctor suggested we take the next best egg as well and transfer 3 so we did. I am not pregnant with a single.
We didn't get any to freeze and of course that is always a downside to transfering blastocyst you may not have any left. And blastocyst don't freeze as well as cleeved embryos.
Good luck with your decision and hopefully it works for you again.

Thanks all of you for your advice,i think i will leave it Ec and see how we get on.I would like to do a blast transfer but twins splitting to three terrifies me.takecare and goodluck to you all with your pregnancies and babies.
Hi, if I'm not too late to throw my experience in.
I had 3 embryos put back last time - 2 top grade, 1 weaker. It was a regular 3-day transfer. We asked for the 3rd as it wouldn't have survived freezing with the 3 that we put away for next time. This was also a reflection that I'm 41 now. Only one embryo made it to implantation.
